Team Dark Side Crappie Co. and team TOPHAT Jigs fished the second stop on the HOI Crappie Club tournament schedule at Clinton Lake. With several days of practice we had a solid pattern holding decent fish. A severe cold front moved in, and locked our bigger fish up, and we were left sifting through several small fish to find one keeper fish. That coupled with trolling motor issues and transducer mount issues left us stranded around noon. With a couple hours left in the tournament we decided to cut out losses and call it a day. We still managed a 19th place finish out of 39 boats. We’ll call that a win!!! Next stop, Lake Evergreen April, 11 2026

Just to satisfy the haters. This fish was weighed 3 times. Two times with the Bubba scale and once with the Rapala scale. The Rapala put him at 4.21, and the Bubba had him at 4.18 both times. I can’t wait for their comments when I do it again tomorrow!!! Stay tuned!!!
