Elk Rapids Running Club Come on ER area folks,
let's get outside and run! On Saturdays we will meet near the white bridge, by the town hall, then proceed with the Harbor Run route.

Runners can choose either the 5k or 10k route.

Registration for the 2012 Bayshore will open on December 1st, 2011 at 8:00am EST. We expect the Marathon and Half Marathon to fill very quickly so we recommend that you register early.

You all know what tomorrow is, right? 8am- Bayshore Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k Resgistration opens. It is expected to fill pretty quickly this year. Who would like to set a new personal goal? I am sure you can find a few running partners through ERRC to help keep you motivated and provide some company on some of those long training runs!

Who would be interested in meeting at the Elk rapids track once a week for speedwork? I say that as a relative term, not feeling very speedy, but I think I need a little kick in the pants! I am thinking about a family setting where those interested could bring kiddos to play together while the adults try to squeeze in a workout. (This is Sara.) I am interested in feedback and preference for a day of the week.

Summer has arrived, time to start getting up early to squeeze my runs in, in the morning? Has anyone else had to change their routine because of the heat? Or maybe we 'get' to change the routine because of all the extra daylight we experience this time of year!

A couple of us will be running the Bayshore this weekend (hopefully several miles into it) when ERRC will be convening at 8, but I think there are a few people who hope to make it this saturday to carry the torch.

Yesterday, I ran to spend quality time with me. Today, I run to spend quality time with a friend. Both are times of utmost importance and clarity!

I've been thinking alot lately about why I run. On any given day the answer is different. Throughout the winter I craved it for the endorphins. And although it's similar, lately I've enjoyed running for the time spent really challenging myself and the sense of accomplishment I feel after my runs. I'm anxious to hear from others, so here it is, "Why do you run?"
