Today, I received an incredibly emotional call from the mother of Jacob, who passed away this past year. ❤️

Our Citrus Heights coach, Brian, made a lasting impact on Jacob’s life, helping him find strength and support through some of his most difficult moments.

Now, Jacob’s mother has offered to sponsor our booth at an upcoming outreach event so we can reach and support more people. She has also offered to sponsor another athlete’s membership giving someone else the opportunity to experience the same encouragement Jacob received.

This is the kind of impact that reaches far beyond the gym.

Coach Brian, we are so proud of you and the difference you made in Jacob’s life. In honor of Jacob, we will continue showing up, reaching others, and improving lives. ❤️❤️

From Coach Kayla: This is Trenton! He started with us about 3 months ago with no previous strength training background. He used to do wall push ups and now he’s doing them on the bar! He also used to do the ring rows pretty much vertical and now he’s made so much improvement! Getting stronger everyday.

This is Liam and he asthma but we’ve been incorporating breathing techniques to regulate breathing both during and in between exercises. Couldn’t do more than 5 squats with no weight when we started but is now doing 5 sets of 10 with 10lb bag!

Six years ago, I met Vanessa at Fly Brave when I happened to live right across the street. I remember thinking, an autism thrift store that provides job training?! How amazing is that?! 💙

My passion has always been rooted in community, and Vanessa was out there DOING IT—creating opportunities, building confidence, and giving people a place to belong.

For the last six years, I’ve shopped at Fly Brave, sent people their way, supported from the sidelines, and admired everything they’ve continued to build.

So receiving the Fly Brave Foundation Sponsor Medal feels like such a full-circle moment. 🥹🏅

After years of cheering them on, it is truly an honor to now be in a position to sponsor an event and give back to an organization I’ve believed in for so long.

Did you know that much of our training is ABA backed? Non-Verbal does not equal unable to communicate or understand.
Much of my sessions consist of repetition, patience and demonstrating. K has been working with me for over a year, with the goal of improving her motor skills, coordination and balance. A year and a half later, she is picking up a trap bar, with great core confidence, walking with it and keeping it stable.
We’ve taught her the safety of picking things up properly (with a slight knee bend), which has translated into her life outside of the gym. Preventing back injuries and promoting confidence.
