Hey all – Was considering running the lift this Saturday the 26th (Whiteface has a school ski program on Sunday) and wondering what the interest might be? Looks like around 20 degrees and overcast and I suspect that the skiing conditions will be quite good once I till up the snow on the hill with the big cat. Can those interested chime in so I can see if there is enough critical mass?

Hi All – Thought this was worth the intrusion so I am passing it along. This is a great event that seems to be getting some momentum and hoping you can check it out, and maybe even run it!

The bike trails at Otis are a little wet for riding at the moment but they will be dry soon enough. Let me know if you want to check them out some time and I am happy to do a tour. We just got included in the BETA trail map package so we should start to see some more attention given to our little area as well!

Sounds like there IS a ski program on Sunday at Whiteface so we will shoot for Saturday at Otis. 10ish on…..

Also noticed $25 lift tickets on Valentines day if you go to their website (before the 13th) and download a coupon! What better way to spend the day with your sweetie?!

Otis Notice!
Hello All - Nothing to write home about but we had a few good turns on the hill last night and there is just enough snow to run the lift this weekend. As with the last few times this year, rock skis and a good sense of humor are recommended! Any strong thoughts about Saturday or Sunday if we only had one day? I don’t believe Whiteface has a school program this weekend, and eager to hear what might work best and will pick a day based on consensus. Both days look mild with a small chance of more snow.

So weigh in if you get a chance, and have interest in getting out.

Otis Notice!
Hellooooo! So we received around 4-6” of sugar snow that seemed to bond pretty well to what was left of the layer below. Thinking about giving the lift a go tomorrow as we never know what winter has in store for us next, and Whiteface is blacked out. I don’t think the skiing is going to be great but it’s nice and white right now and won’t be terrible either. I would not bring your new skis you got for Christmas, though!

If possible send me a quick note if you think you might make it up so I can plan accordingly.

Hello All – Hard to be positive about the weather with what is coming out of the sky right now, but with any luck we will have some fresh snow on Sunday the 14th and was thinking about running the lift 10ish to dark. The International Mountainfest https://www.mountaineer.com/eventsmountainfestschedule/ will also be going on there so lots to do and see. Check your email or the website http://otismountain.com/mountain/ before heading up though, just in case the weather doesn’t turn. Keep your fingers crossed and wear your pajamas inside out tonight!

Hello All! Not sure I would get one of these out this year but it looks like we will get a ski in after all. Assuming I can groom SO much snow AND get the lift going, I was going to shoot for an Otis weekend. The primary ski day will be Sunday but I will also try for Saturday afternoon and maybe into the evening if all goes well? As a reminder, we also have the Doc Lopez Run for Health on Saturday morning if you want to get that out of your system before coming up! It’s a great fundraiser that my wife Susie (Lopez) helps put on as a benefit for the Etown Hospital. I believe this notice now posts automatically to the website so check in there for updates and details as well.
