If everyone is watching them, no one is watching them. Don’t think that just because a bunch of adults are hanging around the pool that someone is watching the kids- constant eyes on is essential at all times in and around the water

Before the cookouts, pool days, and lake trips begin - a gentle reminder 🤍

Water safety is important 🐠 Drowning is the #1 cause of death in children four and under. “Everyone” is watching until it’s time to start the grill, grab a drink from the cooler, go the bathroom, etc. Accidents happen quickly, making life jackets and “water watchers” essentials for young children around any body of water.

Safe Kids > Anything Else.

The Hard Truth – Drowning Statistics

The numbers are staggering. In the United States, more children ages 1–4 die from drowning than any other cause of death. For children ages 5–14, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death after motor vehicle crashes. And for every child who dies, another 7–8 receive emergency care for non-fatal drowning, which can result in lifelong disabilities. These are not just numbers—they represent families and futures. We can change this.

A child can quietly wander toward water while a parent is unloading groceries, helping another sibling, answering a text, or simply looking away for a moment. Drowning is often silent, fast, and can happen even when adults are nearby: 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘!!!!

That’s why layers of protection matter — and one of the most important layers is giving children the skills to save themselves if they unexpectedly reach the water alone.

ISR self-rescue lessons teach children critical survival skills like rolling to float, resting, breathing, and getting to safety. These lessons are designed for real-life situations when accidents happen faster than anyone expects.

Active supervision will always be essential, but preparing children with self-rescue skills can make all the difference in those unexpected moments.

Water safety starts before summer begins. 💙
