The Blues are Back! Etown Rugby is ready to roll for the upcoming Fall 7’s season. We have a HS Boys team registered to compete this fall. Training sessions begin Thursday, 9/3 from 5:30-7pm at Trolley Line Park, and will every Thursday throughout the season. U-16 players are encouraged to join for additional training. All HS players must be registered with Rugby PA. Go Blues!

Congratulations to our 2026 High School Boys Player of the Year - Francis Burke from Elizabethtown Blues Rugby

Francis is an extremely versatile player who can play any back position. His experience and understanding of the game are at a high level. He also has the physical skills to make big plays on offense and defense. He hits like a flanker and has great acceleration and finishing speed.

This season, Francis moved back to what is probably his most natural position, scrumhalf. As our team’s #9, he has averaged 2 tries per match. He finds gaps, breaks tackles, and has finished numerous long runs with tries. His passes are accurate in both directions, which takes pressure off the fly-half (his brother). He motivates and directs his forwards and is the first one to praise them for their efforts. Francis also has a very accurate boot from a tee and shares the kicking responsibilities.

Francis will be competing as a Division 1 wrestler Franklin & Marshall Athletics. He balanced wrestling and rugby training throughout the spring.

Francis is well-known for his defense. He is one of the best form tacklers in the state. He has prevented so many tries from being scored by his opposition with his open-field tackling.

It has been a lot of fun watching him play high school rugby, and he has shown many times that he is one of the best players in Pennsylvania.

Congrats Francis on a phenomenal season!

A WALK OFF WIN FOR THE BLUES IN THE SEMIS. 😤

The Blues fight for the entire 70 minutes to beat a tough North Pitt united side to punch their ticket to the state championship for the second straight year!!!

Thank you to everyone who came and packed the park, and we hope to see you Sunday, 5/17 at PSU Berks at 2pm to watch the Blues in the state championship!

Here is the box score from the electric 34-29 semi final win!

Forward of the Match was awarded to Max Titter, scoring his first U18 try, and being the field general for our pack the entire 70 minutes!

Back of the Match was awarded to RT Ferris, for making consistent smart plays at 15, and then moving up to 10 for the last 20 minutes of the match when needed!

Hit of the Match was awarded to James Burke, going back to back with hits in the playoffs! James stopped a crucial possession, hit sticking the ball out of North Pitts possession and moving it all the way down to our try line!

Congratulations to all of the awarded Blues, and we hope to see you all at Penn State Berks this Sunday!

The Blues have a huge match this Sunday at 1:00 at Old Trolley Line Park in Etown.
We hope to have a great crowd of supporters to cheer on the boys as they host North Pitt in a state semifinal match.

Here are the awarded players in the Blues 40-12 quarterfinal win vs Moon!

Ryan Pearson earned another forward of the match, coming off the bench with an injury and making an immediate impact on the pitch!

Reid “Future” Fouse earns his first varsity back of the match after being called up from our U16 squad to play starting scrum half!

James Burke hits the awards again with another hit of the match! James continues adding to his impressive catalog of clutch open field tackles, and stepping up to opposing forwards!

Congrats to all the boys, and see us at semis on 5/10 at 1pm at Trolley Line!
