2025 Jr. Cyclone Football and Cheerleading Information.
Sign-Ups:
Sign-ups will be posted weekly for online or in-person sign-ups. In-person signups are cash only. Online payments will need to be sent to our venmo ( ). Your coach will take up your child’s physical and ID at the first practice in July.
Cost - $100 for Flag, Tackle Football and Cheerleading. Sibling discounts are available. $20 per extra kid. Dual participation discount $20
Divisions - Tackle Football Ages Mighty Mites (4-6), Grasscutters (7-8), Jr P*e Wee (9-11), 11 year olds must show proof they are in the 5th grade.
Flag Football:
Boys Ages - (4-6) Girls Ages - (5-11)
Our Flag Football Program is ran by Coach Ryan Witten.
Flag practices will start the 3rd Monday of July with times and location sent out by your coach. Flag Football Games are played on Saturday mornings before all tackle games start. Locations TBA
Siblings - We will put siblings on the same color team unless told otherwise by parent or guardian. Example - brother plays for team orange. We will put sister who cheers on team orange as well. Both playing and cheering for their respected age group. We cannot guarantee that bother who plays football and sister who cheers will be at the same location unless they play and cheer for the same age group as each other.
What we provide for tackle football: Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Game Jersey.
What you need for tackle football: Black pants, cleats, and mouth piece(s)
All of our equipment is sent off each year at seasons end and reconditioned for the following season.
Practice Info:
Practices starts on the 3rd Monday of July. It is up to your child’s coach on practice times, location, and days. Your child must have the required conditioning hours at practice before starting any contact in drills, practices, scrimmages, games. Your coach will keep up with those hours during your child’s first week of practice.
Game Info:
All games will be played on Saturday starting the 2nd weekend of August. Game times and locations are set by the WJAL. Your coach will send out game schedule as soon as the WJAL sends it to Jr. Cyclone Football.
Flag Football:
Boys Ages - (4-6) Girls Ages - (5-11)

Dual Participation: Cheerleaders who are interested can also play flag football. ($20 Discount)
Cheerleaders:
Cheer cost - $100 with sibling discount $20 per kid
Cheer must have - Updated physical and copy of ID by first practice 2nd Monday of July .
Cheer practice schedules - will be up to your child’s coach on times and locations.
Cheer age groups - Mighty Mites (4-6) Grasscutters (7-8) Jr. P*e Wee (9-12)
Football and Cheer Season - Will play / cheer guaranteed 8 games. After the 8 game regular season the WJAL Playoffs will start taking the top 4 teams for each age division. Could possibly play / cheer one to two more additional games if your child’s team makes it to the playoff and championship game.
The WJAL youth football and cheer season will run from mid August through the mid / end of October.
All we ask for is your support for each child, each team, and all the volunteer coaches that help make this happen each year!
