Appreciation post to recognize our Mentality Award recipient from the OVA Three Rivers Showdown in Elizabeth, PA from March 23rd! Each girl nominates a teammate they think exemplified a strong and positive mentality “mindset” throughout the whole tournament. For our Championship day, we had two mentality award winners!

Ellison Bruni, OPP, was chosen for the Mentality Award because of her positive attitude, relentlessness and smart decision making! She also had the game winning kill! Here’s why Ellison’s teammates voted for her:

🔹”Ellison played amazing this weekend and was very positive throughout the whole day!”

🔹“She had so much energy throughout the tournament even when things may have been slow”

Woke up Champions of the 2024 OVA 2024 Three Rivers Showdown in Elizabeth, PA 🔐🏆🏐🥇🔥

These girls didn’t just “win” they earned every point, of every set, of every match. They played with intention & purpose - not just to win but to translate what we’ve been practicing into game like situations.

🏆☘️Irish Rumble MVP🍀🏆
Announcing our tournament MVP from the Irish Rumble at Spooky Nook in Manheim, PA last weekend! Bri Channel, 6-row outside hitter and team captain, was selected as MVP for her leadership, serve receive and defense and having a never give up mentality. Not only is Bri the ultimate hype man, but she made crucial defensive and offensive plays to help the team finish tied for 5th overall out of 32 teams.

Overall on the weekend, she lead the team defensively passing a 2.2 in serve receive and a 2.3 in defense contributing to our 3-1 record. She also had an incredible 17 aces with 11 smart kills. Congratulations Bri 🔥🏐💪🏼

As a team this season, we have really leaned into “volleyball is bigger than just a sport”. Teagan’s situation (more info at end of video) has been heavy on my heart as a coach and puts volleyball, coaching, and life into perspective. Before our first match today, we took some of our 4 minute warm up to do a through a prayer circle with our opponent team. Positively Charged VBC, your whole club is in our thoughts and prayers. While we don’t personally know her, Teagan has touched our whole team and we are sending love and prayers for a full recovery all the way from Spooky Nook Sports Center and our home state of West Virginia. 🩵🏐

Thank you to CAVE Girls Volleyball 16 Gold for joining us this morning to emphasize that volleyball is so much bigger than just a sport - it’s a family and community that helps us grow into our best selves.

As a coach, this is one of the most loving, supportive, dedicated, gracious and tight-knit groups I’ve had the privilege of being a part of in my over 21 years of volleyball - playing and coaching. I’m thankful I get to be a part of your journey & you all make me proud every day of the young women you are and are becoming 🩵
