Elite South represented well this past weekend in the Perfect Game SEC Softball 2026 12U PG Battle at UNCW in Wilmington. The team finished 4-1 for the weekend and placed 3rd out of 14 teams while scoring the most runs and giving up the least runs in the tournament standings.
Our pitching staff was solid, allowing 12 runs in 5 games (10 earned) combining for an ERA of 2.73. We combined for a strike percentage of 57.3%. Pitchers Mckinley (7.0 IP), Chloe (5.2 IP), and Tenley (5.0 IP), and Hadley (4.1 IP), combined for 34 strikeouts and walking 17 batters.
Shelby (.556), Avery (.500) and Hadley (.455) led the team in hitting. The team combined for 41 hits over the weekend including 7 doubles from Avery (2), Chloe, Tenley, Destiny, Joslyn, and guest player Joanie Storey. Quinn brought the team’s only triple while Shelby slugged an ITP home run in the final game of the tournament. Shelby also led the team in RBIs with 6 of the combined 28.
The team brought their defense to Wilmington as well with a fielding percentage of .977 forcing only 2 errors the entire tournament.
Our team and coaches showed grit and good sportsmanship in the tournament and we couldn’t be prouder! This weekend a handful of our young ladies will be playing in the PG All State games with different players and coaches. We wish them good luck and a fun tournament! When we come back together the final weekend of the month, we will be moving up to 14U…stayed tuned for our journey in a new age group!

Elite South won the gold bracket in the Perfect Game SEC Softball12U Summer State Championship in Winterville last weekend. While we got off to a slow start falling short in our first pool game, that didn’t stop us from battling back to win the tournament. The team finished 4-1 for the weekend.
Our pitching staff was solid, allowing 17 runs in 5 games (11 earned) combining for an ERA of 3.88. Pitchers Mckinley (6.1 IP), Myla (4.0 IP), Hadley (4.0 IP), Chloe (1.2 IP), and Tenley (1.0 IP) combined for 19 strikeouts and walking 26 batters.
Myla (.750), Destiny (.625) and Chloe (.600) led the team in hitting. The team combined for 40 hits on the day including 10 doubles from Myla (3), Hadley (2), Destiny (1), Joslyn (1), Quinn (1), Zoey (1), and Mckinley (1). Myla led the team in RBIs with 7 of the combined 26.
The girls and our coaches overcame the July heat for this very bittersweet win! While we are happy to take the title, we also had to say “see you later” to our long-time leader on the field, Myla Leonard. Myla, we will greatly miss you but we wish you all the success in your future endeavors and hope to share the field with you soon. You will always be Elite South family and we love you!

Elite South 12U takes the 🌟Gold Bracket Championship🌟 after going undefeated at the PG 4th of July Classic Tournament in Wilmington, NC.
🥎Pool Play Highlights🥎
💫Game 1 vs. Kutters Softball: Won 5-0
Tenley started the day out strong in the circle for us and getting the win. The hurler gave up 0 hits and 0 runs over 2 innings, striking out 4 batters and walking 3.
Joslyn and Tenley both batted 1.000 in their tournament opener while Chloe and Hadley batted 0.500. Joslyn, Chloe, and Hadley each hit a double for extra bases in the games for Elite South. Myla stole two bases.
Elite South brought their defense with 0 errors committed in the game.
💫Game 2 vs. Sirens Softball: Won 4-3
Tenley continued in the circle in game two walking 2 batters and earning 2 runs. Hadley came in as relief in the 1st and got the win, allowing only 1 hit and 0 earned runs over 3 innings, striking out 6 batters and walking 4.
Elite South accumulated 8 hits in the game. The bats were on fire with Joslyn, Tenley, Zoey, Chloe, and guest player Peyton Cuthrell all batting 1.000!!! Hadley and Avery batted 0.500. with the team average coming in with an impressive 0.667 and 8 bases stolen by Elite South during the game.

💫Game 1 vs. Port City Storm Craver/Smith: Won 1-0
This game was a pitcher’s duel with both teams being strong in the circle. Hadley got the ball again in the circle for Elite South and got the win, allowing 1 hit and 0 runs over 3 innings, striking out 6 and only walking 1 batter. Chloe came in relief in the 4th inning to combine with the starter for the shutout, giving up only 1 hit, striking out 2 batters and walking 2 over two innings.
Joslyn, Destiny and Hadley each collected 1 hit for Elite South.
💫Championship Game 2 vs DC Fortress: Won 11-1
Elite South won big in the Championship game over DC Fortress with solid pitching, hot bats, and strong defense. The team batted a strong 0.478 and committed 0 errors in the field.
Myla was big in the circle and earned the win for Elite South surrendering 4 hits and 1 run over 3 innings, striking out 6 and walking 3 batters. Chloe was called in for relief again and tossed 1 scoreless inning, giving up 0 hits, 0 strike outs, a 1 walk.
Elite South piled up 11 hits in the game. Leadoff Tenley led the team with 3 hits in 3 at bats, Joslyn and Destiny each drove in 3 runs and Zoey stole 2 bases. Tenley and Chloe batted 1.000, Joslyn 0.667, Zoey and Peyton 0.500, with Destiny, Avery, and Hadley adding 1 hit each. Offensive highlight of the game was Destiny hitting her 1st out of the park homer which was a 3-run shot💥over the right field fence.
Great show out for Elite South and a testimony to hard work each week by the girls and our coaches. We plan to hit the field again July 18th for the next tournament…stay tuned!
