Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and resolve of those who served on D-Day.
On June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed in Normandy in one of the most significant moments of World War II. Among them were U.S. Coast Guardsmen who crewed landing craft, transports, cutters, and rescue boats throughout Operation Neptune. They carried troops toward the beaches, delivered reinforcements and supplies, evacuated the wounded, and saved lives in the waters off Normandy.
We honor the service members who answered the call, the lives lost, and the legacy of bravery that continues to inspire generations.
We remember. We honor. We are grateful.
