Swift Hound Bows SwiftHound Bows builds authentic and elegant reproduction medieval crossbows. I build medieval and renaissance crossbows. These are period reproductions.

My bows are perfect for SCA Games, target shooting, hunting, living history groups. We have built bows for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for Deadliest Warrior, and for several museums, and a movie, "The Seventh Son", starring Jeff Bridges.

Today's fav tool. High tack tape from Stew Mac. I use a great deal of tape in the shop, mostly blue painters, for just about every thing. This tape is really strong, and even tho I've had it only a week, already it's been incredibly useful!
Also got some very low tack wide tape. Again, one use for the blue tape, has been covering a bow stock with a fresh new finish on, to keep it from getting scratched while I am assembling.
But! It can leave a residue I have to carefully wipe off. New tape leaves none. Love it!
These tapes are generally used for instruments, but they sure work as well in my shop.

"Musket bow: Jonaya's primary target bow until she left the SCA. Walnut, granadillo, brass, and bone. Steel furniture with thumb pegs and bow irons. Has a single-stage claplock mechanism (self-reseting, very light trigger pull) and shoots quite fast (190 FPS) for a Renaissance bow.

Doesn't have a stirrup, but you could add one since the bow irons make removing the prod easy. Prod is 90 # steel.

This one is well used and has signs of wear and maintenance/modification from a few years' of use. It shoots very well though - bow Jonaya used to win numerous tournaments and rank #3 in crossbow standings in the SCA overall!

$1,000 + $70 shipping/handling.

Bows are in good working condition, but is sold without warranty as Jonaya no longer offers bow-making services."

Basically new - it was built a couple years ago and never really used for much of anything.
