Sorry for the delayed post. We ran the “Getdown in Dogtown” race on Saturday at I-22. Gregg put on a heck of a race, as usual!! We broke the transmission in the finals at Montgomery, so we had just installed a new transmission and converter for this race. Thanks to PTC for the quick turnaround. We had a very difficult day where nothing seemed to be going our way. From a water leak while warming the car up, to loose Torque Converter bolts, to nitrous solenoids stuck open on the big kit, to running over someone’s vacuum pump pulley at half track in the semifinals, it seemed as though the universe was against us. However, we still managed to qualify 3rd on 2 systems and made it to the semifinals. After loading the car up, we noticed the truck had a dead battery, so we had to borrow a 12V battery charger just to get home. I finally laid down to bed at 4:30AM after having nothing to eat all day except half of an apple fritter and (2) PB&Js, but I wouldn’t have traded it for anything in the world. It was a hard but great day at the races. Can’t wait to do it again in August. Hopefully it is a little cooler (yeah right!!).

Special thanks to my father and crew (Kent and Tyler) for thrashing between rounds to keep the ole girl in the hunt.

Also special thank you to Tim Segars for the red Loctite to make sure those converter bolts don’t back out again.

After a long time of sorting out issues with the Camaro, we finally took her out this past Sunday at Montgomery. First time out, we were 0.008 seconds away from being in the 4.30 index finals, but I left the starting line 0.008 seconds too early. Special thanks to my father Mike Scelsi for all the hard work and time we have put in together building this monster. Also very special thanks to our Crew member Kent Lamb for all of his hard work and video documentation.

It definitely goes straight off the starting line now, thanks to Shannon Jenkins and crew, but we still got some steering issues to iron out on top end. We only raced on 2 small kits since I am still getting used to driving the car, so we got a lot of power left in the tank. Ran personal best ET of 4.43 but since I had to let out and get back on it, I wasn’t able to eclipse my personal best MPH of 163. The Vette still owns that, for now. We got some more work to do, but we are miles ahead of where we were last season. For the first time since owning this car, I think we are all excited about seeing what it can do.

Well, I hate to keep making posts like this, but we are out for this weekend at Steele too. Trust me, no one is more disappointed than us. The issue we found turned out to be more serious than we originally thought and it is very much a safety concern. We are gonna try one more thing this weekend to correct it, but we might end up having to take it to someone. I really hate inheriting someone else's problems and we have no choice but to fix it. Again, this year has not really gone our way, but one thing for sure is we will be back.

Well, looks like we are out tomorrow for I22. Trust me, noone is more disappointed than we are. It is very frustrating working out the bugs with new cars. Good news is we found the top end steering issue with the Camaro. Bad news is, we need to spend all day tomorrow remounting the front end and making final adjustments to the struts. We will try it again next week. Sorry if you had made plans on coming to see us. If so, you should still go. My good friend / Vette rival Chris Porter will be there, so cheer him on. I22 always puts on an awesome show and we absolutely love their track and staff.

We are going to shoot for Steele next week. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly tomorrow.

We will be at Holiday Raceway this Saturday with the Camaro. More than likely it will be just testing, but who knows. Come out and support us.
