We are incredibly proud to see Borderland Rainbow Center recognized by City of El Paso & Mayor Renard Johnson for 10 years of serving, supporting, and creating space for the LGBTQIA+ community in El Paso.
For a decade, BRC has been a place of connection, advocacy, resources, safety, and belonging for LGBTQIA+ people of all ages and the impact they’ve made across our city is immeasurable.
This year has made us even more grateful for them as they welcomed El Paso Sun City Pride under their wing, helping strengthen the connection between organizations working toward the same goal: making El Paso a place where every member of our LGBTQIA+ community can feel seen, supported, celebrated, and at home.
To the City of El Paso and our City Council, thank you for recognizing the importance of BRC’s work, for standing behind our LGBTQIA+ community, and especially for helping in the search for a forever home for the Borderland Rainbow Center. Having a permanent space where this work can continue for generations would mean so much to our community.
And to everyone at BRC: thank you for the countless hours, the advocacy, the resources, the events, the difficult conversations, the celebrations, and all the work that happens quietly behind the scenes. Thank you for continuing to show up for El Paso.
Ten years is an incredible milestone, but it’s only the beginning.
We are so proud of BRC, and so proud to call a city that continues to support LGBTQIA+ people of all ages our home.
