The winner of the game gets bragging rights and gets to keep "The Claw" for one year. The rivalry between the El Paso High Tigers and the Austin High Golden Panthers date back to 1930. It's the oldest rivalry in El Paso, TX (tied at 20th in the Stat

e of Texas). Austin High leads the series 54-28-2. This year's Battle of the Claw will take place on October 8, 2016 at R.R. Jones Stadium. El Paso High School will also be celebrating their Homecoming and their Centennial on the same date.
