4 years ago, I was given the incredible opportunity to coach a group of 8th graders from two different middle schools, preparing them to play high school ball together the following year. I told most of the parents they'd be playing 14U, focusing on the fundamentals, but I put those young men through the fire. They were coached hard, taught to withstand the storm, and most importantly, they were coached to . We fell just short in the championship game that year, but the growth I saw in them was tremendous. We gave some of those varsity squads a run for their money!
Now, four years later, most of my young bulls are in their senior year—my official last senior class.
To the families of these fine young men, thank you for your years of support and for allowing me to be a part of your athlete's maturation. To the 79907, I hope we represented you all well! Thank you to YHS and their staff for all your support; best of luck this season.
