El Paso on the Move / McKelligon Canyon Challenge El Paso's Move to raise a healthier community through physical activity Today nearly 1 in 3 children and 1 in 3 adults are overweight or obese in America.

The numbers are even higher
among Hispanic and and African-American communities nearly 40%. If we don't solve this problem now, 1/3 of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives. Parking Safety No.102

As we assist our participants to park, we like for everyone to understand that the gates close at 7:45 am, SHARP! Why? The main road is closed off for the race. NO VEHICLES will be allowed on the main road once the race starts. This is for EVERYONE’S SAFETY. No one will be allowed to leave once the race starts unless its an emergency and you’ll be assisted by a police officer.

If you arrived late and the gates are closed, you’ll need to park outside the gates and have to walk/run up to the amphitheatre court yard. It's a long walk to the court yard!

PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE MAIN GATES AND DRIVE IN! YOU'LL BE PUTTING MANY RUNNERS IN DANGER IF YOU DRIVE IN!

Parking Safety No.101

At the McKelligon Canyon Challenge safety is our priority. Gates open at 7:00 am and you'll be escorted to park. We will have parking attendants that will guide you to park quickly and safely. We ask everyone to respectfully follow the attendants directions. The organization of the parking is so everyone can leave, after race is over, without any issues being blocked off.

We encourage everyone to arrive on time to get parked and ready to start. There will be only one entrance to the parking area. So we ask everyone to be patience as we assist everyone. If you can carpool with someone please do. If you want to arrive via bicycle by all means please do! If you’re dropping someone off, please exit the main gates before 7:45 am.

Hello MCC Runners 2026!

This year, the first 400 finishers will receive the official medal that is part of our three-part McKelligon Canyon Challenge 5K medal series. Complete the series and collect all three pieces!

Due to an unexpected vendor error, we also have additional medals available. Rather than let them go unused, we’re excited to give these medals to our remaining finishers, up to 800 total participants.

So keep climbing, keep pushing, and cross that finish line — there may be a medal waiting for you! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⛰️
