Dear Bel Mar Pool members
With summer right around the corner we have been monitoring the current conditions to determine if we can operate safely this summer. The board has determined we feel that we can and we would like to open this summer, beginning June 1. However, we have run into a very unforeseen circumstance that has prevented us from confidently opening the registration site for memberships. We need to have some work done on the pool this year. We had several vendors come out and provide quotes for resurfacing the pool. As many of you know we are a non profit organization that is run by a group of volunteer board members. The cost of the resurfacing was staggering and completely unaffordable for our small organization. We then decided to look for a vendor who would sand the existing pool surface and paint. As of now, we have not found a single vendor willing to do this work. We have had several appointments made with vendors to come out and provide bids, and every one of them has no showed. We are down to the wire here. So we are coming to you for recommendations. Can any of you recommend someone who does this line of work and could possibly complete this by June? Unfortunately without completing this work, we would not be able to safely open this summer. We thank you in advance for your consideration.
