Your growth starts with the standards you set for yourself.

Believe you’re capable of more—and back that belief with discipline, consistency, and the willingness to learn.

Quality coaching, quality training, and lasting progress require an investment. Time. Effort. Money. Sacrifice. Quality isn’t cheap, and growth doesn’t come easy. But becoming someone you’re proud of is worth it.

At SVG MMA Academy, we hold the standard high because we believe in what you can become.

Raise your standards. Trust yourself. Earn your growth.

CATCH THE TEEP → CHAIN THE TAKEDOWN 🥊🤼

1️⃣ Catch the teep.
Catch your opponent’s front push kick and establish control of their leg.

2️⃣ Pull them into the overhand.
Pull them toward you as you throw the overhand, connecting your defense to your attack.

3️⃣ Change levels into the body lock.
Bend your knees, close the distance, and wrap around their waist.

4️⃣ Stay tight and drive forward.
Keep your head snug against their back as you move them forward, limiting the space they have to throw elbows.

5️⃣ Enter the reverse double butterfly hooks.
Jump into position with both feet hooking inside their thighs, using your bodyweight to pull them down with you.

6️⃣ Extend the hooks as you fall back.
Extend your legs to lift and guide them over you, following the movement into top position.

7️⃣ Control before attacking.
Settle your weight and secure your position before landing ground and pound or advancing further.

🔑 POSTURE, PRESSURE + TIMING. Stay connected through every transition. Drill the falling finish slowly with a cooperating partner and coach.

Happy Birthday to Rudy “Sotoloko” Soto! 🇲🇽🎂
Soto

A huge part of our SVG family, a leader inside our facility, and a teacher helping guide the next generation of teens. Your impact reaches far beyond the cage.

After representing SVG MMA Academy five times, Rudy remains the only fighter to date honored with his own banner in our gym. That banner represents more than fights—it represents loyalty, sacrifice, and the pride you bring to this team.

We’re proud of the fighter you are and the man our students and teammates get to look up to. Thank you for being part of the foundation of this academy.

Help us wish Sotoloko a Happy Birthday! Here’s to another year of purpose and greatness, brother. 👊

TECHNICAL SPARRING IS WHERE SKILL IS BUILT. 🥊🧠

Not every round needs to be a war. Technical sparring is about sharpening your timing, distance, defense, reactions, and fight IQ without taking unnecessary damage.

The goal isn’t to win every exchange. It’s to LEARN, ADAPT, AND EVOLVE.

Hard sparring has its place, but longevity matters. The smarter you train, the more consistently you can train. And consistency is what creates greatness.

Save the damage for fight night. Build the skills in the gym. 💎
