Today we celebrate someone who has grown up alongside our Familia and has given so much of her heart to our students.

At only 17, Bella’s dedication to our students goes far beyond teaching techniques. She celebrates their victories, encourages them through their struggles, pushes them when they need it, and genuinely cares about the person each of them is becoming.

Our kids don’t just have a coach in Bella. They have someone who believes in them, protects them, laughs with them, challenges them, and loves watching them succeed.

Bella, we are incredibly proud of the young woman and coach you have become. Thank you for every hour you give, every sacrifice you make, and most importantly, for the love you have for our students.

They love you because they know how much you love them.

Today, my daughter Violet earned her brown belt from her Professor ANDMENEGHETTI

To most people, it’s another milestone in Brazilian Jiujitsu. To us, it represents years of sacrifice, purpose, and a heart that has never stopped serving others.

The truth is… El Monte Jiu-Jitsu would not exist if it weren’t for Violet.

When she first asked to train, I was not only not convinced, I was completely against it. I didn’t see the path that she somehow already knew was waiting for her. She insisted, and that single decision changed the course of our Familia’s life forever.

People often ask what inspired her to train. Her answer has always humbled me.

She wanted to become strong enough to protect our familia and to care for her two autistic brothers on the day I was no longer able to.

That wasn’t a child’s dream of becoming a champion. It was a young girl’s promise to the people she loves most.

That same heart is what she brings to every class she teaches.

She has an extraordinary ability to see potential where others see limitations. Because of the love and experience she’s gained caring for her brothers, she welcomes every student with patience, compassion, and understanding. Whether someone struggles with confidence, or simply needs a place to belong, Violet meets them where they are and reminds them they are capable of more than they believe.

Belts measure technical growth.

But character is measured by the lives you change.

Watching you become this woman has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Your brown belt is well deserved, not just because of how you fight on the mats, but because of how fiercely you fight for the people around you.

We couldn’t be more proud of you.

Congratulations, Coach Violet.

We love you beyond words.

Some trips are about the destination.

This one is about our people.

We came to Florida with two young athletes chasing a dream, to compete at the biggest kids BJJ tournament in the world. But before that, we got to do something even more important…

We made memories together.

We laughed, explored, and watched our kids simply be kids. Moments like these remind us that what we’ve built at El Monte Jiujitsu is so much bigger than medals. It’s families cheering for each other’s children. It’s friendships that stretch far beyond our walls. It’s knowing that wherever we go, we never travel alone, that no one EVER fights alone.

Tomorrow one of our competitors will step onto the mats to test their skills and the next day the other. Whatever happens, they won’t walk out by themselves. They’ll carry the love, support, and belief of our entire Familia behind them.

No matter what happens, these are the moments they’ll always remember.

The tournament lasts a weekend.
The memories last a lifetime.

We are proud and excited to announce that our Summer promotions will take place on July 20th.

That Monday, we celebrate more than new stripes and belts. We celebrate growth, resilience, discipline, and the people who refused to give up.

So whether you’re receiving a stripe, a new belt or cheering on your teammates, remember this…

A belt is earned by an individual, but it’s built by a Familia.

Littles 4pm
Big Kids 5pm
Adult Beginners 6pm
Adult Advanced 7pm

Saturdays:

8am Adult NoGi
9am Adult Gi
10am Kids (all ages)

All of these classes will be led by Professor Bárbara Pires

Everyone has always loved Professor Barbara’s Saturday classes so having her with us more is truly special and an incredible opportunity for everyone to learn from her.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the incredible dads in our Familia.

Thank you for the early mornings, the long work days, the sacrifices nobody sees, and the endless support you give your children both on and off the mats. You are the ones cheering from the sidelines, driving to practices and tournaments, and teaching through your actions what discipline, perseverance, respect, and love truly look like.

Many of our students greatest lessons aren’t learned during class they’re learned by watching the example you set every day.

From all of us at El Monte Jiu-Jitsu, thank you for everything you do.

At El Monte Jiujitsu, our Kids program is about so much more than learning submissions and earning belts.

It’s about building confidence in the shy child who finally finds their voice.

It’s about teaching leadership to the older students who help guide the next generation.
