Congratulations to Team California on an incredible 4th place finish at the US Western Regional Ski Championships in Loveland, Colorado! 🇺🇸🎿

Shoutout to Beau Templet and Ashton Miller for representing Oak Ridge, alongside Marley Garner from our South 1 District. These athletes were selected from over 30 high schools across California and competed against teams from Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada (Lake Tahoe), Nevada (Reno), Oregon, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

A special thank you to our head coach Doug Thompson, who has led this elite team for the past 6 years and dedicates countless hours beyond our regular season to create these opportunities for athletes.

So proud of our team and the memories made competing against the best of the best.

STATE CHAMPIONS 🏆🎿🏂

The ORHS Alpine Race Team captured 1st place in Ski and Snowboard Combined at the CNISSF State Championships, earning the title of State Champions.

Competing against 38 schools, the team secured the championship by an incredible 105 points.

This marks only the second time in program history that ORHS Alpine has claimed the overall State Championship. The grit, sacrifice, and commitment of our athletes made this moment possible.

Final day of the CNISSF State Championships featured Slalom for the skiers. 🎿❄️

Conditions were extremely challenging, with an icy course early in the morning. After more than half of the women’s field slid out or crashed off the course, officials made the call to run a one-run race and allow the women to rerun their course after the men. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and the snow softened slightly by the afternoon.

Our ORHS skiers showed incredible grit and sportsmanship in tough conditions, and we are proud of how they competed on the state stage. ⛷️👏🏼

Day 3 of the CNISSF State Championships featured Giant Slalom for the skiers. 🎿❄️

Conditions were challenging with low visibility and light snow through the morning, but the sun began to break through by the afternoon.

Our ORHS skiers rose to the challenge and showed impressive focus, resilience, and drive on the hill. We’re incredibly proud of the effort and perseverance they brought to today’s race. 💙💛

We wrapped up our regular season today with outstanding energy, focus, and determination at the final Slalom race. 🎿🏂 Tropical vibes and island energy were in full effect, with racers rocking leis and coaches in Hawaiian shirts. 🌺 Next stop: States! 💙💛
