In Pilates, breath is not background noise. It is the guide behind every movement.

Each inhale expands your ribs and creates space. Each exhale activates your deep core, protects your spine, and brings control into every lift and roll. This is what makes movement feel supported, not forced.

Unlike shallow breathing, Pilates uses lateral ribcage breathing. Your breath moves sideways and back, helping your posture stay long, open, and aligned while your body stays fully engaged.
