The summer schedule has been keeping us busy, so here's a look back at our last two tournaments!

The action got underway on June 14 at Deerfield Golf Club for the Travelers Cup, where Keith Nelson put together a winning round to capture his first victory of the season. The win also vaulted him into the lead of the three-part Travelers Cup series. Chasing him to the clubhouse were Joe Fermane, Robert Miller, and Brian Vitolo, who finished four shots back to split the remaining money spots.

Two weeks later, the tour rolled into Westwood on June 28, and this time it was Joe Fermane stealing the spotlight. Joe carded a winning round to earn his first victory of the year and pull even at the top of the season points race. Brian Vitolo continued his strong play, finishing just one shot off the lead for his best showing of the season and proving he's knocking on the door of a win.

With the Travelers Cup heating up and the points race tightening, every shot is starting to matter. Congratulations to Keith and Joe on their victories, and to everyone who came out to compete. We can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds!

Rough Riders Golf Club Annual Memorial Tournament Recap

What a day at Avalon Golf Club! Warm sun, blustery winds, and plenty of golf action made this year’s Memorial Tournament one to remember. Greens were like putting on a granite countertop and the course was in solid shape.

Congratulations to Robert Miller, our new champion, who proudly took home the Cooper Jacket! 🏆 Past champion Glen Mawby came in a strong second, followed by Robert Howardell in third. A special moment as defending champ Fermane Joe handed the jacket to Robert — the perfect passing of the torch.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made the day a fantastic celebration of golf, camaraderie, and competition. See you in two weeks at Deerfield Golf Club in Delaware for the first of three events in the battle for the Travelers Cup!

We kicked off the Rough Riders Golf Club season under absolutely perfect weather. The fairways were calling and the greens were rolling! David Demarest was our low net winner with a 72. Justin Lore came in second, two shots back. Thanks to everyone who made the opener such a great start!

🏆 Rough Riders Golf Club Championship Recap – Seaview Golf Resort 🏌️‍♂️

This year’s Club Championship brought a new twist — players used a percentage of their handicap on Day 1 (based on season performance) and their full handicap on Day 2. The format added a strategic edge and made for some exciting leaderboard movement! Those members with ten events qualified for the club championship this year.

Day 1 – Pines Course:
The course was in excellent shape with lightning-fast greens. After the first round, Glen Mawby and Joe Fermane shared the lead with matching 76s. Justin Lore sat five shots back, while Dave Demarest and Andrew Miller were within striking distance at eight back.

Day 2 – Bay Course:
Perfect weather and perfect conditions set the stage for a dramatic finish. Glen and Joe remained tied after the front nine, with Glen pulling ahead by two shots heading to 18. When Joe bogeyed and Glen calmly rolled in a par, it sealed the deal — making Glen “FIR” Mawby our new Rough Riders Club Champion! 🏆

Between low net prizes, skins, pins, birdie pool and the Par 3 Challenge, thousands of dollars (and an incredible Title Belt) were up for grabs — the largest prize pool in club history! 💰

Another incredible championship in the books — congrats to all the competitors and to Glen for taking home the title!

Special thanks to Zach Bush and the Seaview staff for helping make this an unforgettable championship for us!

This weekend the Rough Riders held our annual match play event at Harbor Pines Golf Club. The course was in excellent shape, setting the stage for some great competition.
