There was a time when I used to rush everything with my horse, and eventually, that stopped working.
That’s when I started thinking, Maybe it’s time to slow down so the horse can understand.
But slowing down wasn’t just about moving at a slower pace. It was about learning the subtle movements, the feel, and the timing that actually help a horse slow down and understand what you’re asking.
One day while working at Martin’s Ranch and learning from Martin, the light bulb finally came on for me.
I realized that if you want to get ahead faster with your horse, you actually have to slow down.
The more you rush, the more you set yourself back.
Sometimes, going slower is the fastest way forward.

When I stopped to think about what I needed to learn to enhance my horse’s abilities, I realized I needed someone to help me think differently. By learning to approach things from a different perspective, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of how to feel where each footfall lands.
