The U14 St Anthony Soccer Club finished their season this weekend. The team is made up of 6-8th graders.

They finished 3rd place in the league tournament. This was our 2nd season. After going winless in the regular season last year, they finished 7-8-1 this season.

They have showed tremendous growth and improvement and look to continue to build on that next year.

Awesome victory during Senior Night!

We played very well as we continue to get healthy. After many opportunities to score, Noah Jansen (SR) got his first goal 23 mins into the first half from a through ball from Cole Adams (JU). Four minutes later, Noah found his second goal from a header, after Michael Wright (SR) took a short Corner to Issac Fallert (JU) who crossed it to the back post for Noah’s header.

The first half end 2-0, but Noah was not done. 12 minutes into the second half, Eli Hiatt (JU) sent a throw-in to Michael Wright (SR) who took a shot that was deflected to Noah who found his Hat-trick on a tap-in goal. After we went up 3-0, we tried to get the other seniors to score. We came very close multiple times, but we were not able to finish the attack on a goal.

Very proud of the way we play and very happy players are starting to come back from their injuries.

It was great to celebrate the contributions of our seniors: Michael Wright (Captain) has lead our attacks. Ronan Bailey (Captain) has lead our midfield playing as a box to box midfielder. Noah Jansen has played multiple positions, but developing as our striker. Ike Daiber has played mostly as a defender for many years, but developing as a midfielder as of late. Jackson Schultz is playing his first year as a defender and has been a key member of our defense. They will all be missed next year.

Sometimes, the final score do not tell the whole story. Even thought we were down 4 players and a quarter of the team was injured, we played very well and stayed close most of the game.

Altamont scored their first goal after 27 mins of intense defense. We played very well, putting into practice the things we had focused on the last two practices. Joey LaSarge (SO) had great saves, and the defense line of Ike Daiber (SR), Jackson Schultz (SR), Issac Fallert (JU), Eli Hiatt (JU), and Riley Miller (JU) played very well. We finished the second half down by one goal and another player.

In the second half, we continue to play well, creating chances. Due to the many hurting and injured players, many bench players stepped up and played well. Myra Christie (JU) played most of the game, pressing the ball and making the best of every opportunity She had. Altamont scored their second goal with 20 mins left in the second half.

We continue to play hard and well. Noah Jensen (SR) kept pressing the defense, Graham Miller (FR) and Michael Wright (SR) kept combining to create attacking opportunities, and Ronan Bailey (SR) and Alex Koester (SO) provide support on the midfield. We had a chance with a penalty with 15 minutes left in the game, but unfortunately, the shot was stopped well by the keeper.

In the last 13 minutes, we were tire, hurting, and giving our all. Altamont scored a third goal, sealing the game, so we put our JV players to give them experience and protect our starters from further injuries. Altamont scored 2 more times.

I’m very proud of the improvement the team is doing, and I’m loooking forward to show what we can do when we have everyone healthy and 100%.

Another comeback for a tie!

Arthur went up 2-0 in the first 11 minutes, but we responded 2 minutes later with a goal from Michael Wright (SR) from an assist from Noah Jansen (SR) .

After some readjustments in half time, we were able to tie the game when Noah took a shot from the top of box when a loose ball ended up there.

We were able to hold on to the tie even through our injuries. Very proud of the team’s effort.

In JV, we lost 2-7. Our two goals came from Joy LaSarge (SO) and Graham Miller (FR). Many JV players played well: Myra Christie (JU), Reilly Miller (JU), Bryn Bartimus (FR), and Rosie Warner (FR).

Next Game is this Saturday at 10:00AM at Home vs. Altamont.

It was an awesome Sunday for our U-14 team, our first Double Win!!

Our first game was versus Albion. We played very well and moved the ball very well. Our first goal was scored by Marty from a Levi’s assist. Our second goal was a combination goal between Marty and Will, who put it on the back of the net. Our third goal was scored from a header from Will. Albion scored a goal in the second half, but Will completed his Hat-trick from an assist from Ben.

Our second game came after a 10 minute break. We got our first goal from an own goal by a Olney 1 defender trying to clear a cross from Cash. Ben followed with a solo goal, putting us up 2-0. On the second half, with multiple player tired, Olney were able to score two quick goals. Coach Brad adjusted our team, and Will was able to score a solo game winning goal, and his 4th of the day.

We are really proud of the growth of our program, thanks to the hard work of players and coaches!

Sorry for the late post.

This past Saturday, we tied 1-1 with Pana HS.

We had a very competitive game. We had the majority of the possession of the ball, but couldn’t score in most of our opportunities.

Pana first scored in the first half after a confusion on the offside. In the second half, Cole Adams scored after we crashed the goal and the goalie miss handle the ball. We had many more opportunities but couldn’t finished them.

We are very happy with the progress of the team, even with key players still out.
