We lost every game - but every girl still felt like a winner - 5/6 girls team at The Aspen Tournament this weekend. We merged four different town’s lax girls(Montrose, Durango, Telluride and Summit) because the girls program in those towns are new and growing - they’ve never practiced together and half of them this being their first season. Despite the scoreboard,They all worked so hard every minute of the game, never felt defeated, never backed down and walked off the field loving the sport and feeling so good about their efforts. That is definitely a win for me. These girls were so happy after every game regardless of the scoreboard. They tried new things and worked as a team. One day, we will all have enough girls to field our own team. And we will compete against each other. But for now we are grateful for the girls and the coaches that come from other towns and give us the opportunity to play and help us feel like a team.
