I decided to break old faithful this morning. I’ve killed a lot of birds over the years with it but it’s been in the safe for probably the last three. After a tough couple of days hunting hard headed birds I was blessed with an awesome mid morning hunt when I found one finally wanted to play the game. There’s something about chasing these beautiful birds that never gets old. The longer I hunt them the more I appreciate these moments.

We pray you enjoyed time with those you love and took a moment to remember the reason why we celebrate this day and give thanks to Jesus for his suffering for our sins so we could have salvation.

Even in the off season there is always work to be done!
We are always planning, scouting and looking for ways to improve our properties.
The weather is warming up and there are projects we want to get a jump on before the bugs really start coming to life!
With all the sickness we have had over the last month, getting outside and enjoying the sunshine, making plans was the perfect way to spend the day!

Each year at the end of the season we try to evaluate how it went.
Did we reach or harvest goal?

What could we have done different?

Did we plant enough food to carry the deer through the winter?
Those are some of the question we like to ask ourselves. This year was one of those off years. It seemed like it was a grind the entire deer season to find good deer movement. Although there are a lot of factors in how things go I’d say this years mass crop played a major impact.

The season we wait all year for!

Kentucky archery season opened this past Saturday and we have been blessed with a great group of guys in camp to kick the season off with!
