LP Equestrian Consulting

LP Equestrian Consulting Serving King and Pierce Counties with integrity and a spirit of excellence since 2006.

My background as a riding instructor has given me the skills to work with all sorts of horse and rider pairs. My goal is to help you understand and communicate with your horse more effectively so that everyone has fun! Activities my riders enjoy are cattle sorting, trail riding, performance shows, competetive trail rides, and gaming.

Beautiful day for a field trip! There were more people and horses but it was too cold for a group photo 🥶

A chilly, sunny, winter weekend with lots of fun but very few photos. Kicked things off with back to back clinics at home covering driving and working the flag. I always love watching my school horses introduce people to new activities, and the group from Jeneration Horseworks did an awesome job grasping new vocabulary and skills.
Sunday started with lessons at home, a haul out to Bar-D to go “real fast” prepping for team penning season, and wrapped up with a pad consultation and lesson. Then it was home to catch up on barn chores 😅
Grateful for weekends like this filled with doing what I love 💖

A little drill I’ve been working on with Piper. She’s not a fan of loping circles or really anything repetitive, but this is challenging enough to keep her motivated.
A 4 circle cloverleaf, circling the same way on each circle. See drawing in comments.

PNW Equestrian Center has a rare opening in our intermediate Horsemanship Track program!

This program is for young riders who are working towards preparedness for leasing a horse and eventual horse ownership, and are interested in Western riding disciplines including ranch riding and working cows.

Riders who may fit this program are
⭐️ already proficient at the walk, trot, and canter independently
⭐️ middle school or high school age
⭐️ committed to learning all aspects of horsemanship in addition to riding

The Horsemanship Track meets twice a week, from 4:00pm to 6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students complete daily horse care tasks, and receive instruction in both riding lessons and “ground school” horsemanship education. Students are also given regular field trip opportunities, hauling horses out to other venues and eventually attending local events and competitions that align with each student’s own goals.

This program is designed to bridge the gap between weekly 1-hour lessons and the independence of leasing, and our barn has horses available for partial lease down the road. We value a supportive and inclusive community, setting and working towards motivating goals, and building confident independence that is grounded in horsemanship-based decision making.

Tuition is $500/mo. Our barn is located in Edgewood, WA.

Please reach out with any questions!

I’ve started letting Rico freestyle in the arena when I groundwork horses. Sometimes he just hangs out and sometimes he joins in on the fun.
