Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship

Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship Junior Golf Tournament for top players in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia Entry into the tournament is by invitation only.

This tournament was started in 2009 by my dad, Brad Covar, with the vision of promoting junior golf, as well as showcasing the talents of the junior golfers of the Carolina and Georgia regions. It has been a blessing to have had the participation and support from the community over the years that has allowed us to continue to grow as a tournament. We have not only had some of the best players in t

he Carolina and Georgia regions participate, but also some of the top players in the country. The field is filled with the top 20 boys and top 10 girls from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia based on rankings by each state's junior golf association. This championship has surpassed our own expectations and is now recognized by the American Junior Golf Association and also meets the conditions to be included as a Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index event. The event is included in the Performance Based Entry (PBE) system of the American Junior Golf Association as well as the ranking systems for all 3 states. This just goes to show how stout the competition is in these 3 states. Something unique about our tournament is that we also conduct a competition between the 3 states by combining the lowest 8 boys' score and lowest 4 girls' score from each state for both days. The team champions get the "bragging rights" for the best junior golf program in these regions for the year. Our main goal and hope is that everyone involved and participating in our tournament will have an unforgettable experience and make friends that last a lifetime (Playing well doesn't hurt either!!).

2022 Tournament Cancelled

After much deliberation, we have decided to cancel the 2022 edition of the Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship. We continue to be concerned for our players, parents, coaches, and volunteers due to the Covid-19 virus. We are truly disappointed to have to make this decision and have every intention of having the event in January 2023. Best of luck to everyone and please, stay safe.

After much deliberation, we have decided to cancel the 2021 Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship scheduled for MLK Weekend in January. This decision was made over our concern for players, parents, coaches, and volunteers due to the Covid-19 virus. We are truly disappointed to have to make this decision and have every intention to begin preparation for hosting the event in 2022. Best of luck to everyone and please, stay safe.
