Hello. Plan to practice a few day before Christmas
First practice this Sunday at Fisher Field at 2pm. Will split up by age 9-10 to 11-14 With Spring Baseball less than 5 months out. Good fundamental work will sharpen our youths skill in time for the spring.
The Remind App limits my texting ability.
I’ve spoke with Mr. Sutton and I know he has reached out to a few of us about playing 9-10u ball and he will try to make it If any parents what to ask questions. We are all on the same page in developing our Edenton Youth for the future.

Good evening! This is a super long text- but PLEASE bear with me and read to the end.

As a HUGE favor to Me, your kids, all the kids of Chowan County, the employers of this county, etc etc etc…

PLEASE JOIN Me tomorrow night at 6PM at town council chambers.

The Town of Edenton is poised to receive $1.47MILLION in Federal funding through the American Rescue Plan Act to assist communities in the rebound from Covid setbacks. 50% of that money will be used towards infrastructure and housing efforts- and the other 50% is planned to be used to positively impact the lives of our residents and visitors for years to come.

Tomorrow night at 6pm, the Town Council will meet to hear residents feelings on allocation of funds.

I met with Corey Gooden, town manager today. There are some great plans on the drawing board- including a dog park, reinstating recycling pick up, an additional kayak launch, among some other great ideas…

BUT….

There is plenty left, and I plan to advocate for the council to allocate $400,000 for parks and recreation. A chunk of this will improve /update 4 neighborhood parks that exist around the town. I’d like to see the other big chunk of this ask allocated for the acquisition of a new parks and recreation facility, with the goal being long range planning for a

NEW SPORTS COMPLEX for EDENTONS children!

Corey says this is TOTALLY possible- and we have a location of serious interest that’s an awesome possibility. This $400,000 we’re asking for could make the land a reality…

And once the land is secured, grants are more easily obtained.

You won’t have to speak…. We will have simple papers to hold that say FUND PARKS AND RECREATION..
And the number of people who show up is CRUCIAL to showing our council we care about our youth.

That’s a wrap for our adventure playing fall baseball. We are very appreciative for Perquimans Rec for letting us continue working with our boys this fall.

Looking for more action this fall Let me know. If Brandon has enough interest he wants to do this. We can put 4 man teams in our age groups and play more inside this off season ⚾️
