Our studio is a recreational, as well as a competitive studio. We have 6 Levels of Competition Company Dancer & a Tumbling Competition Company,
This year we are celebrating our 28th season in business. Students are placed in classes based upon age when 3-18 years old. After this students are placed based on a combination of age and ability. We offer older BEGINNER level classes for those who are getting a little later start, so that these students are not placed with the younger kids. At MPDC, we are not just a studio, we are a family!

Now we jump back over to our MPDC Instructing team, and introduce the instructor who has been around since day 1 in some capacity, Miss Kelly!

Kelly teaches tap, jazz, clogging, baton, & acro. This season she will be teaching on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This will be Kelly’s 29th season as an instructor! She is such a blessing to me and the studio!

Fun Fact: I met Kelly in dance class when we were children. They say Dance Friends Are Forever Friends…. and this is so very true in our case!

Our final office staff member to introduce, is Miss Kelly LaPrade!

Kelly has been in the studio for years and years. She began dancing at the studio our 2nd year open in 1996! This will be her 19th year on staff!

She is a staff member, an alumni, and a MPDC competition dance mom! Oh and she runs stage right at every recital and has for years! She is a huge asset to the studio!

Switching it up… time to meet the ones who keep us straight at the front desk each week!

First up, my mom, Miss Joyce! It has been so great having my mom up front at the desk for 2 days a week for the last 3 years since she retired!

I am excited to have her back again this season! She has been one of my biggest cheerleaders throughout my dance journey since the age of 3 and I am blessed to call her mom!

Next in our introductions of our assisting team is our Mini-Assistant, Mahala Nelson. She will be assisting with our littles in our 3 & 4 year old classes!

I am excited to bring Mahala onto the team this season! I know the littles are just going to love her! She is a hard worker in dance classes, and I know she will work just as hard when assisting!

Our final Student Assistant being introduced is Miss Addison Smith. This might get long ❤️!

I could go on and on about this amazing young lady. She joined our studio several years ago, during a summer session. She auditioned for our company her first year and earned a spot in the company level! The work ethic in this young lady is absolutely outstanding! That summer she joined us was very impressive to me, to see the levels she jumped in those couple of months was something I had not seen before! Besides her talent, she is also the definition of the words “Great Role Model!” Seeing her with our younger dancers and truly caring about them and the work she does with them is priceless to me as the studio owner!

Addison is our one and only competitive SENIOR this year! She is going to be an amazing leader for our top team group for sure! By age, she is in her senior year, however, besides the hard work in the studio and with dance, she is a hard worker outside of the studio with her education! She currently holds an Associate’s from ACC and is in her first semester at The University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill. She will be commuting 3 nights a week to the studio to finish out her senior dance year ❤️. If that does not tell you how much she loves dance and our studio, nothing will!

She was also one of my son’s duet partners in the last few years of his dance career in the studio. I am so excited that they are hitting the stage together one more time for a duet this year, for her senior season. I cannot wait to watch them on stage together again during this bittersweet season. ❤️

This will be her 5th year as a Student Assistant. I 100% trust her when I have to walk out of a studio room to put on my director/owner hat to take care of things, as I know she WILL carry that class on, just as I would! She has paid attention, she has observed, and she has taken in just what it takes to be a leader in the studio and she puts that to use every time she walks through the doors of the studio!

Next up in our Assisting Team introductions is Miss Reagan Smith.

This will be Reagan’s 3rd year as a member of the assisting team here at MPDC. She is a student assistant this season, & a returning member of our Top Team in our competitive pathway.

Reagan is not only a very talented dancer, she has a gift when working with younger dancers for sure! They love her and she is so very good with them! Reagan is an outstanding assistant and we are so lucky to have her back on the team again this season!

Also new to our assisting team this year, is Miss Makenzie Tuttle. Makenzie is a student assistant this season, a member of our Top Team in our competitive pathway this season, and has danced at MPDC for several years!

Watching Makenzie’s work ethic continue to grow, and her love for the studio as well, we know she will do an awesome job helping out this season!
