Who decided every wedge gap has to be 4 degrees?

It’s an industry standard, and for some players it works. But it isn’t the answer for everyone.

Master Fitter Tyler Fitzel once played a 10-degree gap between two wedges, and it produced a clean 15-yard carry difference. That’s the goal: every wedge in the bag covering its own distance window with no overlap and no hole.

Loft is just a starting point. Your carry numbers are what actually build the setup.

The BIGGEST mistake golfers make when blending their irons? Not paying attention to loft.

Different iron models come with different stock lofts. Pair a players' blade with a stronger-lofted cavity and that transition club can leave you with a gap in your yardages right where you need consistency most.

That's why getting fit matters. Your fitter isn't just dialing in ball speed, launch, spin, and landing angle. They're making sure every club in the set steps down the way it should, with loft adjustments where the two models meet.
