Dear Fast Chicks Racing Family, Friends, and Fans,
We understand that this is a long post, but we encourage everyone to read the entirety of this message.
This is extremely hard to write, but we want to inform everyone that the 2024 season will be our last year of drag racing. This probably comes as a shock to most of you, and we want to take the time to explain why we have come to this conclusion.
Many factors have played into making this decision, but there are two major reasons why we are unable to continue racing. Our top priority is, and always will be our faith, and this is something that God has laid on our hearts. Drag racing for almost the past 2 decades has been a whirlwind of excitement, fun adventures, and unbelievably life-changing experiences. With that said, everything that goes into making our team successful is extremely time consuming. Because of that, the health of both our parents, mainly Mom, has been put on the back burner. Over the past year, God has made it very clear that it is time to change that.
The time and effort that our mom and dad have sacrificed in order for us to pursue our passion for drag racing has left a life-long impact on our family in the best way possible. Although neither of them are dealing with overly-serious conditions, we feel that it is now our turn to prioritize their needs.
The other factor that has made it very difficult to continue racing is the financial hardship that has fallen over the motorsports world. With the economical disaster that has invaded our country, businesses have understandably cut their sponsorship budgets significantly. We are very appreciative of the companies that have stuck with us the past few years, but keeping and finding new sponsors has proven to be very difficult. While it is not impossible, our team does not have the resources to focus enough time into doing so.
At the end of this post, we have listed the companies and individuals that helped make our dream a reality. We are eternally grateful to each and every one for supporting us in so many different ways. There are too many people to list that have helped us in one way or another over the past 19 years, but to all of them (listed or not), thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
And to all our fans who have come out to watch us race, shared or left comments on our social media posts, sent us encouraging messages, engaged with our sponsors, prayed for us, or even just watched silently from the other side of the screen, you do not know how much you are appreciated. We truly hope that everyone understands we could not have done this without all of you. We have accomplished so much because of the continuous love and support we received from our fans.
Most of all, we owe EVERYTHING to our savior, Jesus Christ. Not only did He sacrifice His life for us, but He also created for us an undeniably blessed life, filled with a constant outpour of love from our racing community.
We absolutely hate to see this era of our lives come to an end, but we know it is the right thing to do. We will never not love drag racing. We will be at national races, and events at Byron Dragway. We may race again one day, even if not to the level we are at now. Our final outing will be the Byron Dragway Annual Power Wheel Standing Contest, October 5th & 6th. We would love to see all of you there.
Giving up something that has been a part of our family since the very beginning is heartbreaking, but the memories are unforgettable. We never would have thought 19 years ago that 2 little girls’ dreams would have turned into something as magical and thrilling as Fast Chicks Racing.
We love you all so much.
God Bless,
Mike, Jill, Emma, Arley, and Kyle ❤
