Among the myriad services is The Pilot Program, incorporating a running chair to get people out and active when they don’t have the ability to do so. These are racing chairs, allowing people with disabilities to either “pilot” a trek while Nash runs and pushes behind him/her, or to be attached to a bicycle for a long ride. Nash is no stranger to that world, having completed a number of marathons and races himself. This training allows him to have the endurance to work with these customers at whatever pace they prefer. Endure + Rise + Conquer also offers a variety of mental and physical health programs geared toward the client. That includes personalized workout plans, regular “sounding board” life coach sessions in which customers can unload life’s stresses, and nutritional guidance with resale supplements. Damn it! We decided to pull out early. Hannah couldn’t get her heart rate under control. Walking at 3mph, Hannah still manage to hit 222bpm. You can’t slow down much more than that. During her break at mile 21 she got her HR to 100 before heading back out. Only 2 more miles and it shot up again causing stomach cramps and other things. At both aid stations we asked medical to examine her. The last aid station wouldn’t let me leave with Hannah without an examination. A high five for good practice to them. Ultimately, we didn’t want to play with that situation. Especially so early in the race. Time for a drink and watch Aaron Big Beard go at it. He just left mile 35.

Saw Hannah at Mile 21. Humidity is taking a toll. She took a break and now she’s back out. Ice and calories today or this will be a short race. I see her again at mile 30 but there is an aid station in between us.
