Sometimes you don’t need many words. The highlight reel tells the story pretty well.

A night full of setbacks, resilience, and fighting our way back through the field… more than once.

We’re proud of the car we brought and what we showed on the track. It’s hard not to be heartbroken over what could have been because we know we had more in us. But that’s racing.

One of the biggest wins was loading a race car that’s ready to fight another day. After the kind of night it was, we’re incredibly thankful to be in that position, knowing many other teams weren’t.

We’ll keep digging, keep improving, and keep showing up.

Huge thank you to:
PFRacecarz
DRS Trucking
NW Wraps
Quality Quick L**e n Tune
Prothman
Margo’s Tasty Treats
My team and those who traveled to help
Everyone who bought shirts
And of course our fans

On to the next. 🏁

Zandar Peters Returns to the “Weather Guard Roofing - Kennedy Classic 200”

Spokane, WA – Zandar Peters has made only one start in his Super Late Model at South Sound Speedway (WA) in 2026, finishing fifth in the “Wes Rhodes 126”. He will now return to his home track to participate with the Northwest Super Late Model Series presented by Knottical Marine in the “Weather Guard Roofing – Kennedy Classic 200” on August 1st. It will be Peters fourth start in the event, where he shows only one finish outside the top 10. A possible $13,000 could go to the eventual winner.

The 2021 South Sound Speedway (SSS) Mini-Stock champion is confident that he will bring a fast racecar to the 25th running of this event. But he will also have an unusual challenge next weekend, that could make his adventures more difficult, but more fun as well.

“We have always had a fast car for the “200”, Peters explained. “It being my home track, I have lots of laps there. We have always been running fast, when bad luck strikes. Hopefully we will be washing that away, as we will bring a fast race car there this year. One of the biggest challenges I am going to run into is racing against my spotter and setup guy J.J. Hamilton, as South Sound Speedway is his home track as well. It will be a fun battle for sure.”

Peters made two starts with the NWSLMS in 2024’s abbreviated Rookie-of-the-Year campaign. He finished sixth in the season opening “Apple Cup 125” at Tri-City Raceway RMEC (WA). But hidden damage to his Super Late Model didn’t see the Eatonville, WA racer return until the season finale “Fall Classic 200”, at the same tricky triangle. He made a third series attempt in 2025, but a practice accident at the “Summer Showdown 200” ended a promising weekend early at Evergreen Speedway (WA). Peters is coming off a solid eighth-place finish in the “Idaho 200” at Mode Stadium Stateline Speedway (ID), and he plans to use that experience to prepare for the 200-lap grind at SSS.

“Coming off of the ‘Idaho 200”, I’m preparing the same way as that race, staying hydrated all week leading up to the race, and focusing on keeping the car clean and racing hard. One of the most important challenges is trying to qualify up into the top 10 for track position.”

The Northwest Mini Stock Tour winner at SSS is thankful for his supporters, who make the “Weather Guard Roofing – Kennedy Classic 200” weekend possible.

“I would really like to thank PF Race Carz, NW Wraps, Quality Quick L**e, Margo’s Tasty Treats, Prothman, and Grandma and Pop-Pop for their support, and allowing me to participate in the “200” next weekend.”

On August 1st, the NWSLMS will return to South Sound Speedway for the “Weather Guard Roofing - Kennedy Classic 200” for the first time since 2021. The traditional “Miller 200” date will be the series second trip to this established tradition and will be Round #3 of the season series, after the rainout at Mode Stadium Stateline Speedway (ID). It will pay a minimum of $5,000 to win with $8,000 paid out in lap leader money, thanks to Northern Provincial Pipelines LTD. Nearly 20 Super Late Models are already planning to compete with more entries expected. Trenton Moriarity was the victor the last time the event was contested under the NWSLMS banner in 2021.

Remaining Schedule:
August 1 – Weather Guard Roofing – Kennedy Classic 200 " - South Sound Speedway
August 29 - Neal Newberry 125" - Wenatchee Valley Super-Oval
October 4 - "Fall Classic 200" - Tri-City Raceway RMEC

🏁IDAHO 200 RECAP🏁

We started the weekend rough, chasing a left front shock issue that stole most of our practice time. Once we finally found it, the goal became getting as much track time as possible. We adjusted what we could and headed into qualifying.

At that point, the car was the best it had been all weekend. Against an incredibly stacked field and with very little practice, we qualified 22nd out of 31 cars with a 13.266. The top 16 were locked into the show on qualifying time, sending us to the heat races where we needed a top 2 finish to transfer. We crossed the line 3rd and turned our focus to the LCQ for one final shot at making the show. After post-race tech, one car was disqualified, officially moving us up to 2nd and into the main event. It wasn’t how we hoped to earn our spot, but we were thankful to be in the show.

When the green flag dropped for the Idaho 200, we rolled off 20th in a 26 car field. By the first caution on lap 69, we had worked our way up to 13th and held that position through the halfway break. After making adjustments, putting on tires, and adding fuel, the car came to life in the second half. We stayed clean through five cautions and drove our way to an 8th place finish.

This weekend wasn’t easy. We battled setup issues, extreme heat, and limited track time, but this team never stopped working. I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who kept digging all weekend long.

A huge thank you to:

-My team (JoshBrandi Peters, JJ Hamilton, Jason, Jeff Henderson, Ashleigh Chanel, Andrew Kramer, Jensen Lindquist, Skylar Peters, Layne Peters)
-Shannon Hoskins for making the trip with the kids and standing by me every step of the way. Your support never goes unnoticed. You always know how to push me to keep digging, even on the days when it’s hard to push myself. I’m so thankful to have you in my corner.

-Tyler Herzog or loaning us equipment
-Chase Gardner Racing and family for being the best teammates
-Butch from VanDoorn Racing Development for sharing his expertise
-Matt Alexander and the Cars Tour West crew for putting on another great event
