⚠️ River Conditions Update – Please Read ⚠️

Due to recent rainfall, river levels are extremely high and fast-moving.

At this time, the Eaton Rapids Outdoor Recreation Center does NOT recommend any kayaking, canoeing, or river activity until conditions improve. High water creates strong currents, hidden debris, and dangerous obstacles that can quickly turn unsafe—even for experienced paddlers.

Thank you to Earth to Table Urban Garden, Wayne Ash, and the Eaton Rapids Lions Club for bringing a wonderful new addition to Mill Pointe Park!

A brand-new community food pantry is now available with 24/7 access to fresh produce. Stop by and pick up some fresh tomatoes and celery—ready and waiting for the community to enjoy.

We’re so grateful to be a part of something that helps bring healthy, homegrown food directly to our neighbors.

🚣‍♀️ Thanks to the Eaton County Community Parks Grant, we’ve added 8 single kayaks, 2 tandem kayaks, 30 life jackets, and 20 paddles to our fleet!

These upgrades take our kayaking experience to the next level — thank you Eaton County Parks for the support! 🙌

Please Don’t Feed the Wildlife! 🦢🐿️🐤

Friendly reminder: Feeding wildlife in Eaton Rapids' city parks is not allowed. While it may seem fun or kind, feeding geese, ducks, and other animals can actually cause serious harm — to both the animals and our environment.

Here’s why:

🦆 Unhealthy Diets: Bread, chips, and other human food can make animals sick and lead to malnutrition or deformities.

🦆 Overpopulation & Aggression: Feeding encourages animals to gather in unnatural numbers, leading to aggression, disease spread, and damage to our local ecosystems.

🦆 Dependency on Humans: Wildlife may lose their natural instincts to forage, making them reliant on people and unable to survive on their own.

🦆 Bacterial Pollution: Excess feeding leads to more waste and droppings, which pollute the water and damage grassy areas, making parks less enjoyable for everyone.

Please help us keep our parks safe and healthy — for people and wildlife alike — by respecting this rule and spreading the word.

Welcome to the Outdoor Recreation Center's page. Here is some basic information for everyone to make it simple and easy to find without having to search.

Prices (2025 Season):
$30 for a Single Kayak to Bunker
$35 for a Double Kayak or Canoe to Bunker
$40 for a Single Kayak to McNamara
$45 for a Double Kayak or Canoe to McNamara
$10 for a Pick-up ONLY ($10 per person)
$10 for a Single Kayak still-water paddle

Bunker = 2 hour trip
McNamara = 4 hour trip

Shuttle Service:
The ORC Shuttle is designed for easy transportation from your final destination on the water back to Mill Pointe Park where you started. The shuttle runs on a schedule based on departure times from the ORC. If you would like to use the ORC's shuttle, but are not renting a boat, you MUST check in with the employees at the ORC and pay prior to departing from Mill Pointe Park. You will be added to our schedule to assure there is space on the shuttle for pickup.

We ask that everyone keeps track of time or tries to be at their destination before closing (7PM). We also ask that if you are falling behind schedule to shoot a message to the number provided to tell us the name your group is under and when to pick you up or how long you will be. This helps us make sure you are safe on the river and not lost.
