INDOOR PICKLEBALL UPDATE-Thanks to Orcas Island Parks & Rec, there will be 3 additional Saturday indoor sessions at the Old Gym this Spring, all from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.--March 7, March 14 and March 28. These sessions are FREE and open to all!

Come join the fun--indoor pickleball this Saturday the 21st, 1-3 pm in the Old Gym. This session is sponsored by Orcas Island Parks & Red and is FREE and open to all! Based on attendance, we will determine if there will be a few additional indoor sessions this Spring.

RETURN OF INDOOR PICKLEBALL!

Saturday Jan. 31, Public School Old Gym, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

This is a session run through Orcas Island Park & Rec District and there is a $2 admission fee. Indoor pickleball was discontinued recently due to lack of participation. This is part of a trial run to see if there is interest in reviving indoor pickleball through the colder months. Other sessions tentatively planned for Sat. Feb. 7 and Sat. Feb. 21, also at 1-3 pm. After that, whether it continues depends on the interest level that's been shown.

Orcas pickleballers, the Orcas Island Park and Rec District has asked for input from pickleballers re what we hope to see happen at Buck Park regarding facilities, expansion etc. You may have already received an email from OIPRD with a link to a planning survey, which is open until Jan. 25th. If you'd like your voice to be heard, click on the link to the survey below. If the link doesn't work for you, the survey is also available on the district's website, oiprd.org. If you'd like to advocate for improved maintenance/upkeep of the pickleball courts, or for the addition of additional pickleball courts, you will need to do that under the "other" category, as those are not listed options in the survey.

New player clinic on Saturday 8/23 @ 3pm - Buck Park. Club members are offering a FREE orientation to the game and will practice basic skills and strategies. All are welcome. Equipment provided - show up in court shoes and bring water.

FREE PICKLEBALL CLINIC for new players! The Orcas Island Pickleball Club is holding free clinics on Wednesday, August 13 at 6pm and Saturday, August 23 at 3pm at Buck Park. Experienced club players will give an orientation to the game and practice basic skills and scoring. Equipment provided. All are welcome!

FREE club clinics with local pro Jemuel Morris to get ready for the Club Tournament!

Club members - you can sign up for a free clinic with Jem and have some dedicated prep time to work on your game just before the Club tournament (Aug 2-3). The clinic times are:

Recreation: July 24 8-10a
Intermediate: July 24 2-4p
Advanced: July 25 2-10a

Space limited to first eight players to register for each clinic. Contact [email protected] to sign up.

These clinics are FREE to Orcas Island Pickleball Club members. Non-members may register for $49 - which includes one year of members.
