LOTTERY TICKET SYSTEM UPDATE
For those of you who’ve applied multiple times from outside the area, this one’s especially for you.
We want to make it easier for new runners to have a shot at joining us at Cascade Crest 100.
In the past, the only way to earn extra lottery tickets was by volunteering on race weekend.
With the waitlist growing each year, we’re adjusting things so non‑locals have a fairer chance in the draw.
Details are below...
➡️ If you have never entered the lottery, your ticket count starts at zero.
➡️ Each time you start the race, your ticket count returns to zero.
Applicants get:
🔹️1 ticket for entering the lottery
🔹️2^(n-1) tickets for each non-start year (either not selected or pulled out prior to deadline in previous lotteries)
🔹️1 ticket for 6-12 hours of volunteer service race weekend the previous year
🔹️2 tickets for 12-18 hours of volunteer service race weekend the previous year
🔹️3 tickets for 18+ hours of volunteer service race weekend the previous year
🔹️1 ticket or more for extra service over and above the norm (e.g. overnight long shift in addition to standard volunteer shifts) - at discretion of the Board
