So! With the beer sickness being such a big thing now. What can we learn from this? First is that your fitness level and health should be a priority. We know the ones being affected the most. Elderly with underlying health problems and the obese. Obesity in the U.S. is approaching forty percent which is crazy!! The number one killer in the U.S. is heart disease which is directly related to obesity. It is at about thirty percent or so. That is a tremendous amount of deaths that can we can help prevent. Our lifestyles determine whether we become obese or not for the most part. With the number of deaths for heart disease being many many times that of the beer sickness, why don"t we see more effort being put forth to control this. The answer is big business. Industries make a lot of cash from this. We don"t have to be fitness models. We just need to make a better choice here and there so we feel a little better. Quality of life!!!!

Hope all are doing well!! A lot of people have been asking me what a think is the best diet for really fast weight loss. IMO-Keto is by far the fastest as it will get your body into fat burning mode very quickly. IMF or fasting also works really well and has tons of other benefits. The cons of Keto is that it is hard to stay on for any long period of time for most people. But you can use this for a short term boost to fat loss. It does not have to be your forever eating plan. Do your own research and decide if one or both are for you as they can be combined. I personally like IMF as my goal is to be healthy and i am not worried about being super huge at this point in my life. Give them a try and good luck to all!!

I hope everyone is doing well! This post is mainly for the ladies. There are a number of women at my gym that have the type of bodies where they are bigger in the bottom half. Legs, butt, hips. They are doing the staples such as squats, lunges, and the isolation exercises and raising the weights. I don"t see any changes taking place. IMO-You should be throwing in some sled training on separate days using different methods. Push,Pull, different strides etc. Different time intervals etc. Experiment and have fun! Weighted cardio is awesome! Good luck ladies! This works great for guys also. My legs are getting better now even though i am an old fart! Good luck to all! Take care!

Happy New Years to everyone! Although i still enjoy bodybuilding and performance type training, i am really disappointed in what the fitness industry has become. It is because the industry has become mostly about money first and helping people second. I feel that their should be more emphasis on health first and the look second and there is a way to have both at the same time. The obesity epidemic continues to escalate and most people do not care. Main street media promotes things that are a percent of a percent making these problems seem much worse than what they are. Mean while obesity and disease related to such continues to kill 30 -35% of the population each year. Not a peep about this . Why? Because there is big dollars being made by corporations promoting foods and drugs that just contribute to our sickness. I would love to see this change! How about you? What do you think?

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Now the gyms will get busy with all of the new year resolutions. Every year i hear the same line whether it comes from a newbie or a seasoned gym goer. That is: I am going to get in beach shape. We all have different opinions of what this is,but almost all make the same mistakes as most will not achieve this goal. #1 is underestimating how much effort will be required! #2 is underestimating how long it will take to get rid of the extra weight! It is possible with time and effort and being truthful with yourself. So go for it and don"t look back! Even if you don"t make it by summer you will be in much better shape and a lot healthier! The look is nice,but health is really what it"s all about! So go for it because it is actually a no lose scenario! Good Luck to all!!!!

Cold weather is here! Now that cold weather is here use it to your advantage. Do some of your activities outside and reap benefits. These are increased fat burning due to your body using more calories to keep warm and an stronger immune system from just being outside in nature. Both are proven by science. So do not let the cold beat you, but turn it around and use it to your advantage! Hope all are doing well!

The last post i was talking about most everyone using bodybuilding movements as their primary way of working out. I mentioned that a lot of trainers have gravitated to prescribing this as their number one way to train clients including the elderly. Even though i compete as a bodybuilder and still love bodybuilding i believe most people will get more bang for their buck by doing TRUE circuit type training using a combination of weights and body weight. Moving at a brisk pace as allowed by individual circumstances you can work many more muscle groups in a short amount of time and rev up your metabolism much more!! If you still want to train for the look as i call it you can use this training to get more fat loss and definition when used along with your specialized training. And for those trying to get that look do not over look body weight training as i have improved a number of areas that the weights just did not do. You can always up the resistance by adding weight with a vest or by other means. Give it a try and good luck!!! Have a great one!
