Luke's University Health Network and the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, Tail on the Trail works to promote healthy living and a greater appreciation of the natural beauty in our own backyard. 💚 Congratulations to the 100+ bikers, walkers and runners who got their Tail on Trail with us yesterday, as part of the 165-Mile Challenge Kick Off at Sand Island Park, Bethlehem.

In honor of America250 we biked to the former hiding place of the Liberty Bell, toured the Moravian Settlements along Monocacy Creek, and ran along the Lehigh Canal.

Special thanks to our many partners who made yesterday unforgettable: Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites, St. Luke's University Health Network, and the City of Allentown Police Department.

Whether you like to walk, run, roll, bike, paddle, or dance - we invite you all to get moving this summer with the Get Your Tail on the Trail 165- Mile Challenge, and make some unforgettable memories outdoors!

🎉🚵‍♀️ The 165‑Mile D&L Challenge Has Officially Begun! 🚶‍♂️🎉

It’s time to get your tail on the trail! The 165‑Mile D&L Challenge is officially live, and we can’t wait to see how you explore the trail this season. From May 1 through November 15, participants are invited to walk, run, bike, paddle, or roll their way toward logging 165 miles—the full length of the D&L Trail.

Whether you tackle a little at a time or go all in, this free challenge is all about staying active, discovering new places, and connecting with the outdoors and our shared heritage along the corridor.

Kick off your journey toward logging 165 miles on the trail this season on Sunday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Sand Island Trailhead in Bethlehem.

This FREE, family‑friendly event features group walk, run, and bike options, along with special history‑infused experiences in honor of America250—including a guided walk through Bethlehem’s Colonial Industrial Quarter led by Historic Bethlehem.

Choose your kickoff adventure:
• 1.5‑mile Walk & History Talk with Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites and Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum
• 3‑mile Fun Run along the D&L Trail
• 12‑mile Bike to the Liberty Bell
