It’s hard to believe the little girl who walked into my life at just 11 years old is officially an adult today!!

When we first met, Hidden Gem Stables didn’t even exist. I had just sold my family’s farm, Shallowbrook, and was simply enjoying life with one horse as a boarder. I wasn’t planning to start another stable, but then you came along.

Our journey began with weekend horsemanship lessons. Before there were riding lessons, leases, or horse shows, there was learning how to care for the horses. Grooming, tacking up, wrapping legs, cleaning stalls, and understanding that the horse always comes first. We both believed that great horsewomen are built through great horsemanship and by always putting the horses first. Success was never just about ribbons or championships, it was about doing right by the horses every single day.

Those weekend lessons turned into riding lessons, then leasing ponies, then leasing horses. Before we knew it, we were showing locally, and eventually on the national stage. Every milestone was earned through your dedication, determination, and unwavering love for the horses.

One of the most special parts of this journey is that we truly grew up together. While I watched you grow from an 11-year-old little girl into the incredible young woman you are today, you watched me grow too. You watched Hidden Gem Stables come to life from nothing more than an idea during Covid. We both took chances, chased dreams, learned hard lessons, celebrated victories, and became who we are today.

Happy 18th Birthday, Murphy!! Thank you for believing in me from the very beginning, for trusting me through every chapter, and for always reminding everyone that the greatest accomplishments aren’t measured by titles or ribbons; they’re measured by the character we build and the way we care for our horses and for each other.

I’m so proud of the woman you’ve become, and I can’t wait to watch you write the next chapter of your story. No matter where life takes you, you’ll always have a home at Hidden Gem. 💜💎💜

Murphy & Anya in the International Ring at OSF Welcome Weekend

Sunday done right at Old Salem Farm’s Spring Welcome Weekend 🤍

The girls stepped into the International Ring for the first time with Hermès and Mama—and absolutely delivered. 🙌🏻

Murphy rode beautifully to a 4th out of 13, while Anya delivered standout rounds, earning a 2nd out of 22 and a 3rd out of 28. Incredible riding, great strategy, and the results followed —we couldn’t be more proud of them!! 💖🧡

And because it wouldn’t be a proper show day without a little adventure… swipe to see the sweet brown pup we found on the road (don’t worry—she’s safely back home with her family 🐾).

Hidden Gem does Florida 🌴🐴 💎

Our February in Florida was equal parts fun and growth! Murphy showed incredible grit and perseverance, stepping up a division while piloting two very enthusiastic horses in the electric atmosphere of WEC. She consistently rode clean and fast, finishing in the top seven of large classes with 20+ riders—proving she can absolutely hold her own with the big kids. 🏆🙌🏻

A huge thank you to Brooke Farr and Frank Perla for taking such great care of the boys during the week… even while the boys were clearly busy auditioning for PBR 🤠

Our other gem, Anya Kopchinsky spent the entire circuit at HITS with our friends at Twin Bays Stable. They delivered beautiful and consistent rounds!! Mama reminded us all that while we bought her as a jumper, she can be downright adorable—with perfect square hunter knees 😍

A special shoutout to Grand Prix Equine for being exceptional every step of the way—having a trusted team both up north and in Florida made all the difference. 👩🏻‍⚕️💙

All in all, Florida was an incredible experience, and we’re already looking forward to going back!!
