2025 Non-Commercial Lobster Permits Available for Purchase Online
Resident Non-Commercial Lobster permits, as well as Recreational Saltwater Fishing permits for the 2025 season can now be purchased online at the MassFishHunt website. If you need assistance logging in or claiming your MassFishHunt account, please contact customer service at (844) 595-2930.

If you prefer to renew by mail, DMF will be mailing renewal forms to 2024 Non-Commercial Lobster permit holders in late February. Additionally, a paper application can be downloaded here and mailed in.

Non-Commercial Trap Gear Closure Reminder: State waters are closed to non-commercial lobster trap gear from November 1st through May 15th with the exception of any buoyless recreational lobster and crab trap gear fished from the shoreline. This closure may be extended past May 15th or rescinded after April 30th based on the presence or absence of right whales.
