March 25, 2026
With the strong sun and warmer temps yesterday the 2KM loop is ski-able but not enough so that I will call it open. With 97 days of skiing this season I am calling it as the end to another great season at Ole's Cross Country. Thanks to all the customers and people who support my work at Ole's. I appreciate you.
Ski shop is now closed for the season. Reach out with questions or off season needs.
Please Note that ALL of Ole's Trail System is closed to ALL off season use. Please respect this and our land owners generosity and do not trespass during the off season. Thanks!

Have a great Summer.

Day 97 today and the sun is shining over a beautiful new layer of snow. A little bit of snow overnight really helped to pretty up the trail once again. The inner loop (just shy of 2KM) was skiing nicely yesterday. All things considered. It is even better this morning. The loop is well covered this am with a few thin spots becoming more pronounced through out the day as things warm up. The strong March sunshine will soften the snow pack later for spring skiing. The bomber of layer that is on the ground, should be ski-able all day.
All the skiers that have come out have enjoyed it. Come up and enjoy the sunshine and get some late season laps in!

Monday today but we had a fun weekend skiing around out here in the field. The truly hardy and devoted came up and made some laps. The inner loop is open today. It measures about 2KM. It is skiing surprisingly nice out there. I got a great ski in both days Sat and Sun and will be out there momentarily skiing around.
I went around the and tilled up the thin snow crust this morning and believe it or not, produced a rather nice granular surface. Sure a bit of Mother Nature is poking through but it beats running on dirt roads or tromping through death crust. And dare I say, was a fun workout both days.
The world needs more players not haters. Don't be a hater, come up and ski.
See you up here.
Ski shop will close around 3:30PM today.

A little snow overnight. I would say a 1/2" has fallen if I was being generous. It is supposed to snow lightly all day supposedly with another inch or two of accumulations. The inside loop (2KM) was skiing pretty nice yesterday with it getting thin by the end of the day. The fresh snow has helped and I will brush out the track occasionally to help keep the light snow in place. We are open today until at least 4PM, and I will be doing ski laps all day.
Day 95 for skier days. on the books for today.
See you up here.

About 3 inches of thick powder fell yesterday and gave the countryside a coating of snow. The scene is wintry once again. With the thick and pasty powder I have been able to put our loop out in the green grass of the airport meadow . For a distance of around 2KM of skiing. I may do a loop around #11 to see what I see. And may not too. But.............
The airport field looks pretty good. Thin and a bit bumpy as one would expect p, but I will be skiing the you know what out out of it. The temps are nice, the sun is poking occasionally through. No wind out there which is always appreciated!
Your workout and or outside time can be had. Discounted rentals and day ticket today. How about $20 for a rental and to go ski around. What a deal!
We are up here and open today until 5PM.
More snow in the forecast starting early tomorrow morning. Stay tuned!
See you up here

Good afternoon,
Seems Winter has not totally left us yet this season. Currently it is snowing out. There is anywhere from 1-4 inches forecast for our area for today/tonight and another better chance for Sunday and Monday although the forecast is quite unclear.
We shall see if it is enough to get some trail open once again. I will assess late today or in the morning to see what I see. Regardless we will hold some ski shop hours this weekend from 10AM-5PM for leased gear returns and other shop services. Think snow and we will just see what the morning brings us. Have a great weekend......Maybe XC skiing?

It is nice out.......... A little bit too nice out there. Yesterday, for the bulk of the day, skiing was doable. Even great on sections. Grass hopping on others. I managed to pull off about 10 MI. of skiing. But alas, the sustained warm temps have melted things and we do not have enough snow up here to call it open. Spring, if not moved into the house at the moment, is knocking loudly. A high of 70 today? Yeesh.
We will need a big weather shift and a decent shot of snow to get trails open again. Weather forecasters say it is possible. Some even say it is likely.
We shall see what happens here in the next few weeks. I do not know about you but I am not ready to be done skiing.
Best Powder Day I ever had was in April.
Late season Nor' Easta'? Bring it on!
Think Snow.

Amazing what can happen overnight. The wind howled and continues to howl from the south. We took a real big hit out there last night. While there is still some coverage out there, trails are fragmented by open water slush spots and thin spots that are getting bigger and bigger. With temps in the 50's to 60's over the next several days and some rain on Wed. It doesn't look to improve for the short term.
That being said, I took Lil' baby Ginzu groomer out on a scouting mission this am. The best skiing is over on trail #1. It is remarkably well covered still. I set a fresh classic track and then brought the big groomer over and double groomed the skate lanes. Honestly it looks sweet and I am headed over in a minute for a lap. Any skiers who want to get a last ski on our dwindling snow base, don't dally. Things are getting warmer by the minute out there so the best gliding will be early.
Other trails areskiable today with numerous slushy spots as well as some good snow. #4's had great sections that got some tracks set. I also set some tracks wherever the snow looked good. Some sections will be a survival ski's. Bring not your best skis and a dry pair of socks for after!
Call our stop in with questions.

Great deals on gear up here as we move towards the late season. Breathing's of a return to winter next week. That would be sweet!

The temperatures are starting this morning on the brink of freezing. Trails still have great coverage, have been groomed extensively over the last few days and are in fantastic shape. Packed but edge able snow will turn soft as the temps are set to hit the forties by around mid morning. They will top out in the fifties by around mid afternoon.
Everything is in great shape, the outer loop trails, #6, #9 and #10 were groomed yesterday along with everything else. I don't recommend skiing the outer loop until it is well thawed. No doubt the hills are fast this morning. I recommend skiing your legs off over the next few days. Carpe Skiem. The skating will be bonkers nice first thing this morning. FYI.
Fresh touch up grooming around the core trails this morning. Come up and have a ski. The soup is Chicken Corn Chowder, a small but tasty menu available for lunch time and a variety of beverages for all ages are available, including a modest selection of craft beers and wines for an after ski treat. Ski shop open today 9AM-5PM and maybe later if people are hanging out.
See you all up here.

1" coating of snow overnight has resulted in an abundance of silky smooth corduroy out there. All trails will get the groom by around 9:30AM with fresh tracks being set. Conditions are excellent throughout. Come up and enjoy these conditions. The weekend, despite some liquid precipitation on Saturday night, looks to be pretty good for the daylight hours. There should be some great skiing up here. Come up the skiing is really good.

I am not really ready for spring but as one can see from today's picture, last night wasn't half bad.
A soft spring skate ski on #4 was really fun and the sunset was pretty awesome. Today will be a repeat but with the temps only to reach a high in the upper thirties and some clouds moving in as the day progresses, the mush factor should not be as dramatic today. Things will also take a bit longer to soften up. I am out combing some skate lanes and I will re set some track once the snow pack has melted some. It is going to be a gorgeous day of March skiing so come on up.

Good Spring skiing here at Ole's after this morning's cool Blood Moon. Temps are forecast to hit the mid thirties. Core trails have been groomed and are looking nice. I expect all trails to be nice once the temps hit their highs. Good classic tracks out there. Come up and ski.
