SOULFUL SURRENDER YOGA 🌿

The more I learn about healthy aging, the more interested I am in the markers that give us a glimpse into how our bodies are functioning. I’m simply sharing what I’m learning along the way. šŸ¤

Two I’ve been paying closer attention to are VOā‚‚ max and HRV.

VOā‚‚ max is a marker of cardiovascular fitness and our body’s ability to use oxygen efficiently. HRV gives us insight into recovery and how our nervous system is responding to exercise, sleep, stress and everyday life.

My numbers are in a good place today—but they haven’t always been. That’s exactly why I continue to track them. Not to chase perfection, but to notice patterns and make intentional choices with my movement, workouts, sleep and recovery that may help optimize them over time.

For me, this is what wellness in midlife looks like: learning, adjusting and investing in the body I want to carry with me for years to come.

Not just more years—but more life in those years. 🌿

Nourishment doesn’t have to be complicated. šŸ¤

A warm bowl of homemade soup.
Simple ingredients.
A quiet moment at home.
Food that feels as good as it tastes.

Wellness isn’t always the workout, the yoga class, or the perfectly planned day. Sometimes it’s simply slowing down long enough to make yourself something warm and nourishing.

These little rituals matter.
This is self-care, too. 🌿

There’s something about a home that feels intentional.

Over the weekend, my daughter-in-law told me how much she loves being in our home—how cozy it feels and how peaceful. It was such a simple compliment, but it stayed with me because it's important to me that people feel comfortable in my home as much as I do. Home truly is my happy place šŸ¤Ž.

I’ve always been drawn to Scandinavian design—the warmth of natural materials, soft neutral tones, simple shapes, and spaces that aren’t filled just for the sake of being filled. But for me, minimalism has never been about having less. It’s about making room for what matters.

A warm cup of coffee. A favorite book left open. Candlelight in the evening. A comfortable place to gather. Little rituals that quietly turn a house into a home.

Wellness isn’t only what we eat or how we move our bodies. Sometimes it’s simply creating a space that allows us to exhale. šŸ¤

Slow mornings. ā˜•ļø

Before the noise of the day begins, there’s something beautiful about taking a little time to simply be.

A good Americano in the perfect vessel. A quiet house. A few deep breaths. And an intention for the day ahead.

Today there is a "to do" list but I will strive to give myself grace.

✨ Today’s intention: stay present, and make space for what brings me joy.

Sometimes wellness looks like slowing down enough to enjoy the simple things. šŸ¤

A really good latte,
Jazz on a Friday night.
A cozy little coffee bar.
Time with someone you love.

No agenda. No rushing. Just being present enough to notice that this is the good stuff.

Wellness isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s simply about savoring what’s already here. ā˜•ļøāœØ

Friendship in this season of life feels different. šŸ¤

It’s less about having everything in common and more about walking alongside one another through all the seasons—the beautiful ones, the messy ones, the growing ones.

It’s knowing each other’s stories, accepting all the parts, and still saying, I’m here.

There’s something incredibly healing about friendships where you can simply be yourself—no fixing, no pretending, just love, laughter, grace, and a whole lot of acceptance.

Find the people who make space for all of you. And be that person for them, too. šŸ¤ Maria Grasso Rajkovic

Your self-worth was never meant to live in someone else’s hands. šŸ¤

One of the gifts of getting older is learning that we don’t have to earn our worth through approval, acceptance, or how well someone treats us.

We can simply know it.

Yoga teaches us to come back to ourselves—to quiet the outside noise, listen inward, and remember who we are beneath all the expectations.

Protect your peace.
Honor your worth.
Keep becoming. 🌿

Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. šŸ¤

A warm bowl of white chicken chili filled with protein, fiber-rich beans, fresh herbs, and nourishing ingredients is proof that healthy food can also feel comforting and satisfying.

In midlife, I’m learning to think less about restriction and more about nourishment—foods that give us energy, support strong bodies, and help us feel our best.

Movement. Nourishment. Rest. Connection.
It all matters. 🌿
