We are a local community that practices tai chi, a gentle exercise in order to gain health benefits such as improved balance, stress reduction, better posture and leg strength. Tai chi may help teach patience because tai chi is a life time of learning a "walking meditation"!

NEW Beginner 6 Week Class: Tuesday, September 13th 6-7:30 pm. Have you heard of Tai Chi but not really sure if it is for you? Or you have talked about it but the idea of joining a club or committing to a new activity right about now seemed to be too much? $60 The good news is this beginner's class is ONLY 6 weeks AND... there's NO HOMEWORK!! Now that's a great way to try something out, not be overwhelmed with worrying about keeping up with something new, and you can do this in a great studio space with a welcoming group of people who love Tai Chi! Some of the health benefits of a regular practice of Tai Chi include increasing physical balance, strength and endurance. The repetitive nature of learning the forms helps to increase concentration and quits the mind...students find that coming to class builds a base of confidence and a restorative sense of calm and well being.

As much as I would like to re-open tomorrow, January 18th, I am going to hold off for at least another week because of Covid. I hope that the next time you check in the studio will be open for class. In the interest in keeping our community safe and to help reduce the infection rates the tai chi studio is canceling classes for the next two weeks. I will be tracking the Covid infection rates and if I feel that I can safely hold classes I will reopen the studio in early January. Please take good care of yourself and your loved ones, do all that you can to be safe. I will be looking forward to starting a new beginner class on Tuesday January 18th from 6-7:30 pm. Tai chi is a low impact slow motion exercise that is done without pause and addresses some of the key components of fitness: muscle strength, flexibility and balance. You can start a tai chi practice no matter what your level of fitness or health because tai chi may be altered to fit the level of the student.

Wow, it seems like forever since we last had a class...we are finally heading back to the studio to resume classes! Now that spring is here and we are starting to rebuild our communities, maybe tai chi is a good way to start moving and reconnecting. Tai chi is often described as "meditation in motion," but it might well be called "medication in motion." There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many health problems. And you can get started even if you aren't in top shape or the best of health by Increasing your balance and leg strength. We are a group of tai chi practitioners who focus on a positive low stress environment. Classes will start again on Tuesday May 4th at 6 pm. Masks will be worn for the duration of the class and social distancing will be practiced to keep the community safe.
The class schedule:
Tuesday 6-7:30 pm Beginner class focusing on foundations
Thursday 10:30 am-12 pm Open class, anyone is welcome
Friday 12:30-1:30 pm Some tai chi experience will be helpful

I am very sorry to say that Tai Chi Revolution is currently NOT open for classes. I am anxious to reopen and as soon as I am able to do so I will let everyone know. Please please please wear a mask, wash your hands often and maintain social distance.

Tai chi helps to strengthen large muscle groups like your quads and hamstrings making it easier to do the activities of daily living...if you practice danyus at the sink it give you something stable to hold on to if need be. A quick tip for the beginner's or for someone who needs a refresher...don't let your toes leave the floor...In other words don't rock back on your heels. Keep your entire foot flat on the floor and if you feel like your starting to rock push your toes towards the floor.
