Anyone else feeling like they could use a break from all the happenings with life?!

SAME HERE GIRLFRIEND & since I can’t get to the spa let’s chat about ways to DE-STRESS & RELAX 🙌🏽

❇️ Meditation folks - I’ve been using the app fo years & it’s been life changing for me! Couple minutes each day keeps me leveled
❇️ Move yo bodyyy - getting your body moving will help ease your mind & make you feel good. Dance, walk, run, yoga flow stretch, or workout. Think of the Happy hormones!
❇️ Cook some easy & simple healthy meals - I love utilizing more time at home to experiment in the kitchen and try new things
❇️ Reading - great way to decrease screen time & dive into “A whole neww world”. Personally I’m a personal development and thriller novel girl!
❇️ Adult coloring books - amazing for anxiety. Helps distract and calm the mind
❇️ Deep condition your hair - throwing together a good combo of simple kitchen ingredients can bring your hair from Brittle to Beautiful
❇️ Hot shower & facial steam or face mask - honestly refreshing af just good for the soul
❇️ Journaling - you can use prompts or just get your thoughts on paper like word vomit. I typically start with what I’m grateful for during high stress to help reframe my thinking
❇️ THERAPY - now I know it’s not a free one but if you work for a company check if they have an EAP program that offers complimentary sessions/live chats with a therapist. Also check with your insurance company to see if you’re covered for a therapist so it’s not totally out of pocket!

These are just a couple of things that have helped me during any time of madness.

STOP STARTING OVER EVERY WEEK❗️

Clock out on a FriYAY at 5PM and your weekend looks like:
🍸Friday Happy hour with rounds of drinks and some bar snacks
🍣 Dinner date with an Old friend you haven’t seen in ages saturday night
🥂Boozy Brunch with the girls Sunday that turns into a 4+ hour affair
🕔I’ll start over Monday & workout at 5am

Which turns into:
🍴 Overeating/over drinking WAY past your intake spending time at dinner AND Brunch
😰 Guilt on Monday with a side of Failure Feelings
‼️ The need to be “SUPER GOOD on your diet, nO cARbS, burn 600+ calories and HIIT every workout tHis wEEk”

You feel like you cannot enjoy your weekend w/o doing “ALL THE THINGS / LiVinG yOUr BeSt LiFE” & binging your progress away

OR - you have every desire to eat well, and just indulge a little bit, and you even make it to the gym! BUT somehow you always seem to massively “mess it up”

Having Balance w/ Portion control & making healthy food choices, when all you want is a GIANT plate of pasta and ten mimosas doesn’t mean F* it & start over on Monday

Your food choices still count on the weekends & I get that it’s not easy!

When I began losing weight - This was ME. For so long I couldn’t find balance on the weekends. I felt like I couldn’t have “balance” bc I liked to enjoy myself on the weekend with friends, foods, and drinks

The difference in results came when I shifted my mindset around my relationship with fitness and food

I FULLY committed to seeing food not as good or bad but more or less nutritious. I do believe that no foods are off limits. Health is also not a weekday thing - its a 24/7 thing

Food is fun & is okay to indulge in. But like many things there is a method to the madness

If you’re just over seeing the scale go right back to where you started week after week - you have to change how you think abt “this fitness thing” and start committing to your health.

First I do want to say - Thank you to all of the beautiful women who are choosing to stand with ALL women! Let’s continue to spread more love and magic every single day ✨

I’m super grateful for all the amazing Kweens empowering women daily, educating others about the NUMEROUS issues women face worldwide, and bringing attention to stories about women that would get no attention without our voices.
Let’s continue to build each other up. Speaking up for what you believe in can also be an act of self care & you know I always say - always take care of YOU💕
Secondly - the point of the challenge: A reminder that this movement started as way for women to RAISE THEIR VOICE 🗣 and to stand in solidarity to the women we have unfortunately lost due to femicide in Turkey. The black and white photo is NOT “for a filter to look better/to post another selfie/to show you got nominated..[insert negative response to movement or people blindly posting without knowing why].”
I’m CHOOSING to not only share my photo but ALSO helpful bits of information regarding the movement so we don’t miss the point here. I encourage you to read up on the matter before spreading your opinions like wildfire. A great resource I’ve found is & they’re doing a wonderful job at not only providing ways to help, but also other resources to help you understand what is happening.
Ladies if you’re not with it- stop trying to bring every girl down that you see posting a black and white photo. If you feel that someone may be missing the point of the challenge - educate them instead of putting her down/talking about how this doesn’t empower women. Be kind & do better.
We don’t get stronger by being weighed down by negativity. Stand up for what you believe in while also speaking from a place of love ❣️

It ALWAYS seems impossible - until it’s D O N E 👏🏽
Today I officially launched Boss Kween Academy 🎉 and the overwhelm of happiness I have is pretty much out of this world. For so long I wanted to bring together an intimate group of amazingly diverse women in a health setting & the day has come.
The women in this group are POWER KWEENS I TELL YA👑 everyone is hitting the ground running & honestly I I may have cried some tears of joy/gratitude. I’m thankful to have another opportunity to work with such amazing women. They’re all ready to step into their power and it truly inspires me to continue supporting them over these next 8 weeks.
It’s been weeks of prep, flares, so many ups and downs & im telling you there’s no feeling like seeing your visions come to life after all the madness.
This is my message to you to do the SCARY thing that you’ve been putting off for so long. It’s never going to be “the right time”. It may be one of your toughest battles. You may want to quit. But the right support/accountability (for me it was having thee wonderful and my amazing friends/family) and the burning desire to stick to your WHY - will keep your fire lit up 🔥 and keep you going.
Stay the course & most importantly..

GET BACK INTO THE GROOVE 💥
Hey all 👋🏽 Kerenza here!
It’s been a couple days since the last post. If you frequent my stories you’ll have noticed a change in content focused on our current social issues, glimpse of my endo reality, and even a small break from promoting Boss Kween Academy (my brand new group coaching program starting next week🎉)
It’s been a lot in the last few weeks but one thing remains constant - I am resilient and strong AF ✨why do I say this now? My mind has been tested to the point where I was feeling so much good/bad anxiety, tension, some overwhelm & then my endo symptoms flared shortly after. Flares always teach me how to be more observant & grateful while slowing down. It’s hard to see it sometimes but it’s a blessing.
The comeback lies in the road ahead. I was gently reminded by multiple forces to get back to my basic self care - nutrients, hydration, rest, meditation, reading, and stretching. Paired with some skincare, catching up on (WOW🤦🏽‍♀️), and some I’m feeling more and more like myself.
You see it’s not the actual battle that is most important in any case - but how we rise up that matters most 💛

Another Holiday has passed…

Where did you find yourself today?

Starved through breakfast bc you “over did it” yesterday?
Avoiding bread and carbs like they’re the new pandemic?
Starting your week long “cleanse” to erase the “damage”?

OR Eating like you normally do bc you understand proper balance :)

Listen - I used to do all of those first 3 if I ever felt I went slightly over my calories/macros. Then I realized this is exhausting & thought why did I go overboard in the first place?

My poor relationship with food. It was ruining my consistency and progress. DASSIT.

Today I eat mainly veggies, lean protein, healthy fats, all as a part of my daily food intake. I eat fruit and dessert. I drink large amounts of water and don’t fret over eating the occasional donuts. I enjoy food & eat to properly fuel my body.

But it wasn’t always this easy for me. I started dieting in my teens, was basically addicted to fat burners and pre-workout, always felt I needed to cleanse my “bad foods”, and restricted my intake so much that I developed disordered eating habits. If it was “the new rage” & someone was having results, I probably tried it.

What I didn’t know? Nutrition does not need to be overly complicated.

Would you rather Stress over daily food choices or Eat to feel good & watch the rest follow?

I’m happy to teach you how to eat without OBSESSING over it so that you can actually get lasting results. We are over the whole “lose 15lbs in a month thing” & are building sustainability in our journeys.

If there is one struggle I’m hearing weekly now it’s - “I’m trying to get into a routine & I’m getting lazy”

Consistency is one of the biggest factors in really creating sustainable change in our lives. But how can we remain more consistent & feel more successful right now?

☑️Set your intentions - knowing your intentions FIRST can actually help you mold attainable goals along the way. What do you want out of this? How do you want to feel? By setting an intention for yourself daily you’re more likely to stick to the process, thus making goals easier to meet, and therefore - more WINS.�
☑️Stick to the same times weekly - we all have the same hours in a day. I make it a point to get in morning movement as part of my morning routine. But making sure I do things at the same time every morning helps me from skipping it. Make sure you’re excited about what you’re doing - find what you love and new ways to push yourself.�
☑️Have a plan/guidance - whether it's working with a coach or following a personalized plan - having a steady plan that challenges you to keep winning really makes a difference when we feel like “giving up” on our journey. So many times we think “I can’t do this, it’s just too hard / easier to go back” but in reality we are just lacking the right guidance to get us to the next level.�
☑️Lay out what you need - I make sure my journal is on my yoga mat, know what I’m wearing for the day, and most of what I’m eating to keep myself on track. I’m not a crazy planner by any means but I’ve gotten to a point where things are just part of my morning, & you’ll get there too with these tips!�
☑️Give yourself 21-30 days before you give up as it takes roughly 21 days to create a habit. Get yourself an accountability buddy to help you stay committed. By the time 3 weeks is up - you’ll be seeing small changes that will launch you into some BIG RESULTS

This is especially important when trying to embark on a new journey of any kind. If you want to take yourself to the next level - let go of what’s no longer serving your new life.
When it came to my endometriosis I was holding so tightly to habits that were really holding me back. I would overwork myself, not make mental health a priority, snap bc of stress - I had no idea how to even slow down. It took accepting where I was at to really allow me to release the anger, sadness, the “why me” act and allow so much goodness into my life. When you let go into the unknown you have no idea what to expect.
You’re telling yourself all these stories in your mind of why you can’t when you can rewrite those same stories at any point love. If you want to grow get ready to drop the baggage, open your mind, and learn new thangsss ✨
