SKA + Golden Fleece—stronger together! 🤝🥋
This victory at the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica is a beautiful example of what can happen when athletes, coaches, dojos, and families work together toward one goal.
Throughout every moment, win or lose, she remained humble, respectful, and kind to everyone. Even when others didn’t show her the same respect, she never allowed their behavior to change her character. She demonstrated resilience, power, discipline, determination, and the true meaning of Karate-Do.
She was also fighting with an angel watching over her. One of her senseis, who passed away, played an instrumental role in her growth and helped shape the athlete and person she is today. We know he was protecting her, guiding her, and standing beside her throughout every match. This victory was for him, too. 🙏🏽🕊️
For seven months, the team worked together to develop her sidekick. At this championship, she trusted the training, believed in the game plan, and finally let it go—and it paid off! That moment showed what can be accomplished through teamwork, patience, preparation, and trust.
A special thank-you to Coach Cheryl Murphy for being there and supporting the game plan. She didn’t complicate it or try to change what was already working. She reinforced it, helped keep our athlete confident, and worked together with the team. That is the sign of a truly great coach.
This medal represents much more than one victory. It represents the combined effort of an athlete, her family, her coaches, her dojos, and everyone who supported the journey.
