Association of Marine Industries Association of Marine Industries (AMI) is a not-for-profit marine trade organization dedicated to enhancing boating on Long Island.

AMI and our members exchange ideas and information for the benefit and education of the boating community and environment. The Association of Marine Industries (AMI) has been promoting a better quality of life for Long Island boaters for over thirty years. We are a non-profit marine trade organization consisting of over 135 marine related businesses dedicated to enhancing the Long Island boating public’s enjoyment of our clean coastal waters. The AMI organization and its members join together to exchange ideas and information for the benefit and education of its Long Island boating members, the community and the environment.

New York State has increased grants for marinas to help protect New York's waterways from pollution. This additional funding will help marinas and municipalities affordably install and upgrade boat sewage pump-outs that reduce pollution and protect the water quality that supports recreation, tourism, fisheries and coastal ecosystems. The National Estuary Program's Peconic Estuary Partnership's TAC and NRSC met August 19th to listen to a presentation by Gheel Sung on GIS mapping tools for Critical Lands Protection Strategy ranking tools that will hone in on various properties for the shoreline, groundwater, and coastal community protection strategies. All geographic areas will be reassessed every two years.
