The tournament has been deemed “one of the most amazing success stories on the PGA TOUR” according to past PGA TOUR commissioner, Tim Finchem. What is so amazing about the John Deere Classic? Withstanding multiple changes in location and title sponsors, it is unlike other small-market events and has managed to thrive as a community-based, charity-oriented tournament. In fact, it consistently ranks

as #1 on TOUR in per capita giving and was named “PGA TOUR – Tournament of the Year” in 2016. The mission of the John Deere Classic, a non-for-profit corporation, is to conduct a PGA TOUR sanctioned professional golf tournament that will contribute positively to the quality of life in our community. The John Deere Classic also strives to provide growing annual financial contributions to charities in our area, as well as promote volunteerism. Through the golf tournament and various tournament programs, our main goal is to provide a positive economic impact to the community.

Only a few days left in the Giving Cup, so here is an update on the progress and standings so far:

🏆️ Team IA: $20,245, 124 donors
🏆️ Team IL: $34,165, 123 donors

The race for The Giving Cup is heating up, and the finish line is just around the corner (September 10). Beyond the bragging rights, five lucky donors from the winning state’s team will score Fairway Club passes to the 2027 John Deere Classic, one of the best ways to enjoy tournament week and the exclusive Sunday night concert!

Join us this evening for Fundraiser Tuesday: Birdies for Charity! ⛳️🏌️‍♀️

10% of sales from 5:00-8:00pm will be donated to back to Birdies for Charity! ✨

The fundraising program is a well-known initiative utilized by PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions tournaments to assist local 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in raising money. The most notable and original program is hosted annually by the John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities region (Illinois/Iowa). In 2026, the final tally for birdies scored during the tournament reached a total of 2,041.
