How do you handle stress in the moment?
Everybody talks about their self care routines to de-stress and live a healthy life, but what do you do when sh*t hits the fan?
Instead of scattered emotions, panic, and uncertainty, imagine if you could stay grounded and calm under pressure.
Here’s what I’ve learned from living with a chronic illness for nearly a decade while being an entrepreneur.
When in doubt, do nothing.
There have been many times when I have impatiently rushed a decision or outcome when stressed under pressure, which always causes more problems.
So, how do we stay calm under pressure when the world seems to be crashing down on us?
For me, it’s always been about staying in the present moment, and the best way to do that is by tuning into your breathing.
Many people recommend Navy Seal Box Breathing, but I simply tune into each breath, turn off my mind, and follow each inhale and exhale to find peace of mind.
It’s never about avoiding stress but learning to be calm under pressure and effectively navigate experiences.
Another key piece is to control what you can control. Once you’ve brought yourself back to center with your breath, you can think more clearly and navigate that stress with composure.
It’s easier said than done, but you can take your power back from external circumstances and pave your path forward with each conscious breath!
