Meet our 2026-2027 E-Board! We have an incredible group ready to take this year by storm.
Starting with our Madame President, Jean Smith, who is entering her 4th year on the team as an absolute unit at fly-half in our backs squad. Jean is a Senior studying Civil Engineering and is most looking forward to coming back stronger than last season, competing hard, and seeing what our team is capable of achieving.

Our Vice President, Addie Mayer, our beloved ho**er and talented forward, is entering her 3rd year with the team. Addie is a Junior studying Secondary Social Studies Education with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She is most looking forward to spending time with her teammates both on and off the pitch.

Our Match Secretary, Sasha Jones, is everyone’s favorite wing and is starting her 3rd year on the team. Sasha is a Junior studying Environmental Studies and Sustainability with a minor in Entomology. She is most looking forward to growing and developing as a team (and hopefully winning a lot of matches!).

Our Treasurer, Anna Schneider, is entering her 4th year as one of the forward pack’s most skilled props. Anna is a Senior studying Animal Science with a minor in Agribusiness Management, and she is most looking forward to winning every single scrum this year.

Our Apparel and Fundraising Chair, Madison Cole, is a forward and a true beast of a flanker entering her 2nd year with us. Madison is studying Zoology on the Pre-Ver track and is most looking forward to improving at rugby, being competitive in practices and games, and getting closer with her teammates.

One half of our Rookie Coordinating duo, Keira Concannon! Entering her 3rd year as a lock and highly admired forward, Keira is studying Advertising Management with a minor in Sales Leadership. She is most looking forward to welcoming all of our new members to the team.

The other half of our Rookie Coordinating duo is Payge Charnas, who is entering her 4th year on the team as the forward pack’s dream 8-man. Payge is a Senior studying Packaging and is most looking forward to a great season and seeing fresh faces on the pitch.

Welcome back, Ruggers! And if this is your first time here, consider it your sign to try something new.

We are so excited for our fall season, which is quickly approaching. Our club welcomes people of all skill levels and rugby experience. As a no-tryout team, you can walk onto the pitch at any time, so get our first practice (August 31st from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at MSU's Vet Med Field) on your calendar.

To our final senior of the season 🤍

Our All-Star Liz Jewell will leave such an incredible legacy on this team. She is one of the most dedicated athletes to ever step on our pitch and was truly named captain for a reason. Her quick thinking, agility, and team spirit pushed us to new heights this season. I can confidently say we wouldn’t have gone as far as we did without her unwavering leadership.

She is one of our most decorated players, having attended the Rugby All-Star Tournament and being named a Big Ten Select athlete multiple years in a row. Liz, your rugby knowledge, pure skill, and phenomenal personality will be greatly missed.

Senior Sunday🤍

Good luck on finals this week, Spartans, and extend a huge congratulations to one of our graduates, Mo Leflar. Number 10 on the field, but truly number 1 in all of our hearts.

Mo has been playing rugby since she was young and pushes herself and her teammates to be better every single day. Our calm and collected badass on the field, she always finds a way to keep us grounded so we can push through every game and practice.

As our president this past year, she transformed this club into a family, and we couldn’t have asked for a better leader.

We’re so proud of you, Mo. We can’t wait to see everything you do next 💚🏉

Senior Sunday 🤍

Happy last week of classes Spartans, today we are celebrating our lock and captain Ava O'Neil. She is truly an irreplaceable forward. One of the most kind and welcoming people on the pitch, it is always a fun time warming up next to Ava. Our scrum will miss you dearly.

The team won't be the same without you Ava, thank you for all the hardworking and dedication this year!

Nobody had us finishing this high… but we showed up and proved exactly who we are.

4th place at Northeastern Rugby 7s, battling through every game and coming out stronger each time. This team keeps rising, and we’re not done yet.

Senior Sunday 🤍

After our great weekend in Boston we want to celebrate another senior, Emy Lacombe. A center who’s always bringing the best energy, showing us new dance moves and making sure to keep things fun. Such a smart player on the field too with quick decisions and always staying one step ahead to constantly help the team out.

You will always be a spartan rugby player, and we will miss you so much!
